Got this off the auction side. A 4" Model 57 in nickel in nearly perfect shape. I watched it for 6 days with a $325 starting price and with 12 hours to go I bid $450 for it. No other bidders showed up so I got it for $325.

I own(ed) a couple of Model 57's - really loved to shoot them - they were sweet BUT
found that we reloaded fewer and fewer of the .41Mag rounds - just too close to .44
Mag. The .44's are so versatile that there is little reason for the .41. I ended up giving
them to my sons - who also don't shoot them much, either.
Personal observation/pref.

In bright sunlight the shiny front sight can be difficult. If I were to actually use a nickel revolver for serious shooting I would darken the face of the ramp. 0 -
I agree that the 41 is overshadowed by the 44. Better bullet selection, cheaper factory ammo, and it's 15% more powerful. If I could only have one it would be the 44. Fortunately, I am not limited to one and I have two .41 Magnums and one .44 Magnum. 0 -

If you don't believe that I got the 57 for $325 then you won't believe this one, either.
A Model 14-3 with some scratches on the barrel and a bad rub spot from a holster strap but otherwise works fine. A GB auction with a $100 start and I was the only bidder.0 -

How about this 27-2 with an 8" barrel in nickel? It was unfired in the wooden presentation case with all tools and documents and even came with the original cardboard shipping wrapper.
Starting price was $300 and it had one bid when I saw it. I bid $425 and I was high bidder at $325 and that's where it closed.
I'm telling you, you have to watch the auctions closely. There are bargains out there if you look long and hard enough.0 -

Tell me how to find the auction number. It's not in my listings of completed auctions and I clicked on my feedback but after some time the details of the auction vanish and it's useless. If you can tell me where to find the number I will get it. But I think all that info is unavailable after 60 days or something like that.

All of the pistols I have posted above came off GB auctions at the prices I stated. Of course I had to add shipping and transfer fees (if not C&R items).0 -
FCD- When you bid on an item, the system will only bid that portion of your bid required to make you the high bidder. In this case, the seller started at $300. The first bidder bid $320 but he was high at $300 because that was the starting price.
If someone had bid $310 the system would have bumped the first bidder's bid to $315 and showed him still as high bidder at the new amount. But I bid over the $320 maximum bid by the first bidder so I became high bidder at $325.
Even though I bid $450 (the most I was willing to pay) all it took to be high bidder was $325 so that's what the system showed. With no further bids I won the auction at $325. Had someone else bid higher then the system would have used whatever it took of my $450 bid to keep me the high bidder until someone offered more than $450 at which point I would have been outbid.
If I had not bid, that first bidder would have won the auction at the $300 starting price even though he apparently bid a max of $320.0 -
