DO U LIKE STEAK?....NO WE EAT VENISON
Ok so here is the thing, you are 50 now and not poor anymore. You hunted for your meals in the 70s and early 80s cause you had no lute. You finally understood that VENISON really sucks. I mean its meat and all but cmon. CMON u got the buddy or urself that feeds the family with venison because you or they think it just yummy. I have over 30 deer under my belt and i ate maybe 1. Summer sausage...yeah its ok. But a 16 oz usda choice bone in ribeye i will take all day long... It kills me when i hear a grown man say "all we eat is venison...lol

I think I could live off of deer meat,backstrap is good no matter if its deep fried,grilled or pan fried.roast cooked on the grill or in the oven.I take all the other meat and slice it real thin and make jerky.I have 8 trays going right now. 0 -

I have killed around 80 deer. If I weren't going to eat them I wouldn't have killed them. I do my own processing.
I do prefer the flavor of beef to venison.
I like to marinate steaks in something strong, like soy sauce and red wine, for about an hour, and I like to lose a little of the venison flavor.
I make vension sausage and burger that is delicious, and is better than anything you can buy at the store.
Furthermore the venison is organic and the deer hasn't been given growth hormones, and hasn't been cloned, or God knows what else these Dr. Frankensteins have in store for the beef industry.
I shot only one deer this year, but back when I lived in Georgia I would kill 8 or 9 in a year and I would buy no beef at all in an entire year.
Now if you want to talk about good eating, talk about wild hog. That is the best meat I ever ate. Has a lot less fat than domestic pork.
I used to kill a couple of those every year back in Georgia, but there is no good hog hunting up here in the mountains.
I was listening to a hunting call in show last night, out of Atlanta.
A guy was in a deer hunting club in central Georgia, where I used to live. He said that in the past ten years the number of deer has declined, and the turkey flock has been decimated. This is because the place has gotten overrun with wild hogs.
Boy, I would love to go down there and help him with his problem.
I would let an 8 pointer walk in a minute if, instead, I had a shot at a 140 pound wild hog.0 -

Prefer the taste over beef, prefer the lower cholesterol over beef, prefer the higher protein over beef, prefer the lower fat over beef, prefer the less chance of chemicals/hormones in venison over beef.0 -
Having gout puts the damper on all meat for me, especially vension, (high in purines) the gout's worst enemy. Having said that I might add; its like anything else, variety is the spice of life. 0 -
I like em both...but if I had to choose one or the other, it would be steak any day of the week. Porterhouse...T-bone...Filet mignon...skirt steak, just to name a few. My mouth is watering as I type. [:p] 0 -

I ate nothing BUT venison all day today. I had venison breakfast sausage this morning. Venison brats for lunch and CF Venison cutlets with mashed taters, corn, and gravy for dinner. I grew up with no less than 6-8 deer getting put in the freezer every deer season. Don't get me wrong I like a nice steak but growing up I definitely ate more venison than beef. This is the first time I have had venison in the freezer in almost 9 years so it is a treat. 0 -
I too still prefer a grilled Ribeye to anything. However, I enjoy both deer and beef. 0 -
Like both. A properly aged NY strip or t-bone is hard to beat.
So is venison tenderloin cooked with onion and green pepper-kabob style.
Best chili is with venison burger or chunks. Same with spaghetti.0 -
