What do you Carry?

What type of pistol do you open carry? I am not going to buy a Glock, so don't list any of those. Im kind of thinking a 1911 or S&W M&P, but I have not shot an M&P yet. It will be in a hoster on my hip. Also an all day every day carry. Also looking at what I think is a Beretta 92 in .40. I shot one one time and liked it, but I only shot about two rounds out of it. Any one have any imput on this gun? . Any sugestions?

    I want to get a strictly carry weapon with taxes i am getting back. I need some opinions on what to look into and possibly buy.

    What do you carry? How much does it cost? Pros and Cons to your handgun?

    I am looking into the Kahr handguns. But also am thinking about a hammerless small revolver.

    Just let me know what you think is the best for this application.

    Most of the time an XD40 subcompact, sometimes a Bersa .380, and sometimes a Para 1911 LTC.

    I used to carry a 38 Taurus snub nose. The pros are it's small and light, shot well and being a revolver was very reliable. The cons are. It only had one con. It didn't float and I dropped it in a very big lake. They run around 250 dollars.

    I carry a Glock 30 now. Pros are it's a 11 shot 45. It's compact and will take the full size mags. It shoots great. Cons are it's a compact but it's very wide and doesn't fit my hand perfect, but I got use to it. They run around 500 dollars.

    I think carry guns should be plain jane and to the point. No lasers, adjustable sites, etc. They shouldn't be a collectors items or rare jems. They should just be a tool and nothing more.

    depends where i go, sometimes i take my baby eagle in 40 cal. usually i just take my bond derringer in 45/410 . with a leatherman knife case on my belt for more rounds

    Go with a small .38 special revolver. You can shoot them right handed, left handed, held upside down and no bells and whistles safeties to fumble with in panic mode.

    A Sig 226, 17 rounds in the magazine and works every time. I highly recommend you pick one up, used or new.

    Stub nose revolver with lasergrips. Should be enough to get you to your car so you can get your shotgun.

    S&W 340PD, 5 rounds of 357, only weights 12oz, it is light enough that you will carry it everywhere and it will work everytime you need it to work

    i like my XD45 for the no thinking part, it is the tach mod a little to long (but if its in your hand it ready to work)if it didnt shoot so good id swap it for the compact mod [:p] THE othere is the PT145 it is same size as the xd but compac. have the pro 100 holster for both, and if i carry 2 for some reason the backup is the Taurus CIA mod850 titanium 38 weight is 18 oz loaded.[^]

    Just to save you some guesswork...the Glock won't float either [:D]

    Seecamp LWS .32 ACP.

    Pros: very small and light. Can carry daily without spooking the horses. Very well made.

    Cons: will not float either if dropped in a lake.

    Sometimes a Sig Revolution 1911. Pro- 8 rounds .45. Con- 40oz. empty.
    Sometims a Glock 36. Pro- 20oz, .45. Con- not as comfortable as my 1911.

    Depends on what I'm wearing ...

    Could be as small as the Kahr P3AT to a Glock 30 or Kimber ProCarry CDP ... a Beretta M70 is also a nice carry.

    I have several that I carry. My favorite right now is a Kahr MK40 in a high ride pancake holster. I also carry a S&W model 37 Airweight in a Biachi ankle holster or a Kahr CW9 in a belt slide. In summer time I often carry a North American Arms Guardian in a pocket holster.

    How does carrying a smaller gun not spook the horses. Unless of course you are talking about firing it.

    I agree! I carry a S&W 442. Hammerless and light in weight. I disappears in my pocket.

    I carry either a 4" or a 3" XD .40. The 4" I got used in Jan for $350. The 3" was new in 2005 for about $425.
    If I'm not carrying, I have a Beretta .32 Tomcat in my pocket.
    If I have a long coat on, GP100, 6"
    For variety, a P95DC.
    Hoping to buy a Smiff 'n' Wesson J-frame .357 soon.

    Kel-Tec P-11 9mm is always with me. It is REALLY small and easily disappears in a front pocket. I also have a nice ankle holster that I use on occasion.

    i dont have my CCW, yet[:(] but i go to NKU every weekday anyway cant carry. but i do carry a Torch II Tanto by Gerber. very slim Tanto blade with a pocket clip. dont feel it but i know its there and easy to open one handed

    I use to carry my Auto Ordnance 1911A1, but now I carry a Taurus PT-101 loaded with 13 rounds of 185gr Hydra Shok.

    I have two guns that are strictly "tools" and are my preferred carry.

    A S&W M659 9mm that is ugly and stainless (contributes to ugly as I hate the look of stainless) and was cheap coming as surplus from the Atlanta PD. Lost or damaged and I shed no tears over it. Load is Winchester or Federal 115 JHP +P+.

    For deeper concealment this S&W Model 40 Centennial made in the late 1950s. Stored on a boat it corroded and is as ugly as can be. A smith parkerized it and I bought it real cheap years ago. A favorite carry gun as I cannot possibly do any more harm to it. I roll my own 38 Specials with a 125 JHP pushed to 1150 FPS. I got the stag handles for $6 at auction.
