...make false allegations of rape or kidnappings ? Seems that in our society we coddle them and continue to treat them as victims and get them help even when they destroy innocent lives and waste valuable resources from law enforcement.

Just to offer a little balance to the issue, if false accusation of rape becomes a prison offense, it becomes, unfortunately, all too easy to intimidate actual rape victims into silence.
"We'll beat your charge in court and then they'll toss you in the slammer for false accusation! How do you like that, sweet pea? Someone like you will be real popular in prison. Or maybe you'd just like to withdraw your accusation and avoid all of this unpleasantness?"
Mind you, I am NOT saying that all women are angels and tell the truth - that is very much not the case. But if we live in a just world, and I like to think we do, those that level false accusations of rape will get their due without the need for more laws and punishment.
Suing them for defamation of character is a good start, but as most of these women are gold-diggers or practically kids (ie, young and stupid), chances are they haven't two pennies to rub together. But it beats having the off chance of putting an innocent and victimized woman behind bars just because we feel more inclined to believe men than women.0 -

To be honest IMHO I think people like that have a serious problem. Each should be handled on an individual basis, but not without consequences. 0 -
serious topic. I think that if the accusation is false then there should be some jail time along with restitution. Now i base that on the idea that a man charged and convicted of rape would undoubtablt see jail for a long time.

Granted, guys should know better than to sleep with someone they picked up at a bar on the very same night, but I believe sister should get the same term as the guy does for statutory rape...

A close friend of mine was recently arrested by a small town retard chief after his girlfreind's "friend" reported that he had molested his girlfriend's 5 year old daughter. Turns out she had falsely reported her husband a few years back, and her mom tried to kill him. The mom is spending life in prison, and the exhusband is missing a good portion of his face from a gunshot wound.
The girl who was supposedly molested told the chief several times that it did not happen and she did not know why her mom's friend keep saying it had happened. A physical exam also showed no signs of any abuse. The chief arrested him anyway for 2 Class x felonies.
Anyone who makes false allegations should be senetenced to the same punishment that would befall the person they falsely accused had they been convicted.0 -

A couple months ago, a guy at school was accused of raping a girl in her dorm room.
He was instantly arrested, and thrown in jail for the weekend (arrested on Fri, released Monday afternoon)
Details of his "crime" were placed on the University homepage. Every computer on campus that signed onto the internet displayed a link to the story by default. The local paper also had an extensive write-up.
When he was released that monday, he was forbidden from returning to campus, even to get his belongings. This happened during finals week and he was not allowed to complete his final exams (I don't know if he was given a refund, but I doubt it)
Eventually, the girl's story fell apart. The charges were dropped.
Even after being cleared, the accused student was forbidden from returning to campus. The accuser, from what I understand, is still enrolled and working on her degree. No action of any kind has been taken against her.
I don't know if he raped her or not. Only him, her, and God know for sure. I do know that a young man's life now has a black mark upon it that may never be removed solely because a girl said "He did it". There's something terribly wrong with that.0 -
