Think I found my next vehicle
I have never owned a vehicle with less then 100,000 miles on it. Was going to look towards the used, but low miles route and then I heard about these. Good price, good warranty, deccent gas mileage, and AWD.

There is no such thing as an "American made car" anymore.
Even the big three make a large amount of their car parts out of the country.0 -

Sad, but true. Our company bought Chevys and Camrys. The Camrys made in Kentucky...the Chevy in CANADA. This buy American push seems dead to me.0 -
+1 for the low mile used car .
we just did it ,wife was looking at a tahoe .we didt't have a ton of money to spend so we went used shopping.we found an 2001 with 101,000 miles on it . it was a nice looker, well equipped with a 13900 price tag .seemed to be the avg price .we continued looking and found a 2002 with 28,000 miles on it .very clean ,fatory tires at 60% and a one owner (carfax) .they were asking 17900,we walked out the door at14900 . truck was almost 45,000 new .truck is really nice and very low mileage .

I think the SX4 is a pretty sweet little ride. 0 -
When I hear "Buy American"
I just think of where the money goes ...
The "Big 3" ... mostly stays in the US.
Toyota, Nissan, Honda and the like ... they may employee some of our people but the profits go to Japan, Korea, etc.0 -

You are right..we should show those japs we mean biz...lets take all the factories here in the usa and tear them all down and make them just do biz in korea, china, ect. we dont need those 20-24 dollar and hour jobs that employ thousands upon thousands upon thousands of americans. man the economy is looking up..huh0 -
Yep ... screw the japs
They aren't doing us any favors by building their plants here ... if you think they are doing it for any reason other than $$$ you are seriously misguided.0 -

Ford Ranger??
Aren't those built in Japan?
Since they are nothing more than a re-badged Mazda?0 -
My car is All American! I drive a 1968 Buick Skylark!! 0 -
I am not trying to start a war here, but I am not going to pay $5,000 more for a car just beacause it has a Dodge, Chevy, or Ford emblem on it. I have owned 2 vehicles so far in my life, both Chevy's. I need/want a vehicle that gets good gas mileage, yet is AWD because that is almost a must up here in WI. If our manufatures refuse to make a deccent little car that is AWD and gas efficient, while being affordable, then I am not going to buy from them, period. Pontiac is coming out with an all new AWD Vibe, which is very similiar to what I am looking at, and I really was deadset on buying one of them. Then I seen the pricetag![:0] Absolutely rediculous compared to the Suzuki I am looking at. Starting prices are $19,000 as compared to $15,000 for the Suzuki. It's unfortunate because I always try to buy American, but I am not forking over an extra few thousand(that I don't have anyways) just to say I have an American made car.

I think you're doing the right thing.

i don't believe there are any cars or trucks assembled and assembled with 100% U.S. parts and labor. when you disassemble for breakdowns or maintenence you'll see the truth[;)] 0 -
How about you live your life however you want to and enjoy your new car when you get it. 0 -
Have you seen the new Suzuki pickup?

Kinda looks familiar. [;)]0 -
Ignore the above posters who say anything negative.
People with a flawed understanding will blame international commerce for America's economic situation.
People with an accurate understanding of the American economy will know the American unions are at fault for thier overly inflated prices, American CEO's and businessmen are at fault for not remaining competitive with a global marketplace, and the American education system is at fault for loosing the global battle on engineering/quality.
I personally will not drive an over priced piece of garbage to support a cause (Union, executive, or overpriced and misguided education system) in the name of waving an American flag and declaring victory.
Buy American, pay too much, for an inferior product so the unions can be one tiny step closer to socializing middle class America.
Or buy "American" which is made in Canada or Mexico (THEY OUTSOURCED THOSE MIDDLE CLASS JOBS) in order to line the pockets of the union execs and business execs.
I firmly believe the unions representing the big three are a large percent of the economic problem that has been unsolved for the last 30 or 40 years.
The American unions created the need for outsourcing, not the American businessman.
Does anyone here really believe a Ford or Chevy is a better product than a Toyota or a Honda?0 -
