Think I found my next vehicle
I have never owned a vehicle with less then 100,000 miles on it. Was going to look towards the used, but low miles route and then I heard about these. Good price, good warranty, deccent gas mileage, and AWD.

Suzuki has close ties with GM and Daewoo, but surely not Honda.0 -

That would be about a perfect truck right there.

Such perfection was developed years ago as the Toyota Hilux.0 -

When I hear "Buy American"
I just think of where the money goes ...
The "Big 3" ... mostly stays in the US.
Toyota, Nissan, Honda and the like ... they may employee some of our people but the profits go to Japan, Korea, etc.
Ditto0 -
Somewhere in the '80s Ford did make a 2.3 turbo diesel Ranger. I don't remember the exact model year range but I do know they weren't all that popular. I've only seen two and one was in a junk yard. 0 -
blah blah blah profits go to japan.
haha you guys crack me up. There is no logic to that. Its like saying "we better fight them over there so we don't have to fight them over here!"
Profits go back into R&D, marketing, etc. And where do the profits of the big 3 go? In the pocket of the CEOs, who would be investing in foreign currencies if they were smart.0 -
interesting....been looking at a jeep crossover but the suzuki awd equipped is cheaper that the compass 2wd with extras...gotta go see one...bought a new nissan versa (first new vehicle since 1976) and am getting 34-36 mgp & everything is working just fine & plenty of snap with cvt... 0 -

Not to mention the jeep compass looks like something that came out of the back end of my dog.
But the versa is nice.0 -

Profits go to the owners of the company: Stockholders. Its no more difficult to buy shares in Toyota, Honda, etc, than in Ford, Chevy.
Its an international economy these days, guys. "Buy American" was a great idea - it just isn't practical or feasible any longer.0 -

Ignore the above posters who say anything negative.
People with a flawed understanding will blame international commerce for America's economic situation.
People with an accurate understanding of the American economy will know the American unions are at fault for thier overly inflated prices, American CEO's and businessmen are at fault for not remaining competitive with a global marketplace, and the American education system is at fault for loosing the global battle on engineering/quality.
I personally will not drive an over priced piece of garbage to support a cause (Union, executive, or overpriced and misguided education system) in the name of waving an American flag and declaring victory.
Buy American, pay too much, for an inferior product so the unions can be one tiny step closer to socializing middle class America.
Or buy "American" which is made in Canada or Mexico (THEY OUTSOURCED THOSE MIDDLE CLASS JOBS) in order to line the pockets of the union execs and business execs.
I firmly believe the unions representing the big three are a large percent of the economic problem that has been unsolved for the last 30 or 40 years.
The American unions created the need for outsourcing, not the American businessman.
Does anyone here really believe a Ford or Chevy is a better product than a Toyota or a Honda?
Damn well put. Couldn't have said it any better. The only thing I'll add is that these CEO's/management of these companies agreed to whatever the union's demanded. Did you ever see a "strike" last any length of time. Who cares----we'll just pass the cost along to the consumer and continue to build "crappy" autos. I have no pity for these "crying" auto manufacturer's. The management made their bed through the years----how they have to sleep in it.0 -
BUY AMERICAN! Why would you buy anything else? 0 -
