Would you take the call?
Just want some of you alls opinions.Last night was my B-day and my wife's daughter called to wish me one.We haven't spoken in over a year and a half.Last week she call my wife on the 21st,thinking it was my b-day,But my wife told her it wasn't til the 29th.Anyway the phone rang this week and my wife asked me if I was here.My answer was no.About the only times she's been descent to me in the 14yrs I've known her, was when she wanted something. So my question to you is, would you have taken the call?

I have a son who at 16 basically stated he loved me, but didn't want to live with me because I was "stricter than mom". Which means that if his grades were sucking, no car, no phone, no commputer etc. And he knows that I meant it. So he went to live with his mother. He never answers my email, never answers his cell phone, or make any attempt to communicate. It is a damaged relationship, and has affected his sister, stepmother and brother's relationships to him as well. It sucks. However I would always attempt to communicate because the relationship is not just you and her, it obviously would affect your wife as well. Kids are dumba$%'s and make the easiest choices for them at the time without thinking about the consequences and who it affects. She is obviously a part of your life whether you want it or not by proxy to your wife. I would communicate when the opportunity presents itself, but also not be taken for a ride either. We all have done the thought process of "man, I can't beleive I did that to mom, dad or step dad etc" when we matured a little bit. Maybe she wants the opportunity to make up for things. Everybody needs to be given second chances "let he who is sinless cast the first stone", but also of the Ron Reagan mindset "trust but verify" i.e. don't let yourself get taken for a ride. 0 -
