Rockey Mountain Oysters Update
We did 35 Bull calves. 55 calves all together. I'm guessing at least 8 pounds of testicles,maybe 10 pounds.
Called the guy at church doing the wild game meal. He thought it would make a good appetizer. He's got to check on a recipe, but he thought it was pound them flat with a hammer and fry then like sausage patties.

The recipe may upset the more queasy among us, but it's basically soak in salt water, peel off tissue, split or pound flat, and deep fry in batter. Beer batter or buttermilk is best, as if you were making chicken fried steak.
They are not an acquired taste -- they are good the first time.

You lucky dog...Calf nuts are so much better than the "Sale Barn" monsters...But I wouldn't turn either one down!! I used to hang with the Coors shooting team years back and they chided me into my first batch...Wow...! Great eating.. 0 -
