Valentine's Day Double Standard?!?!
I was just wondering how you men feel about getting Valentine's Day gifts?!?
I sent my guy some flowers... I do it every year and every year he gets picked on! LOL. I think this really bothers him, but I just can't help myself... I find it kinda funny but I'm not doing it to get a laugh... I just love him! I want everyone to know he's loved...
So how would you feel if you had flowers sent to you at work, on Valentine's Day and if you got picked on, would you care??

I would still really appreciate the kind gesture.
In all honesty, I don't really want/need anything for valentines day. It's not that I don't like romance, it's just that my perspective of what is romantic is slightly different than a woman's.

I personally would not want flowers, but at least you got him something, and it is the thought that counts.
Personally I am getting tired of all the "holidays" that are created by retailers, so folks go out and spend money on stupid stuff.
It can cost 100 bucks for roses around Valentines Day,.......what does that mean?
You look at them for a few days and put 'em in the garbage!
Most guys don't get anything, or at most a card,.......Valentines Day is another female oriented "holiday".
Look at the difference between Mothers Day, and Fathers Day. You miss that as a guy, you are in the crapper. Most fathers get nothing, or the privelage of being taken to dinner, which they get to pay for![xx(]
Personally, I don't do this garbage anymore,........for instance I gave my fiancee a gift cert to the place she gets her hair done. I figure at least she has something to show for it.
Before I get "flamed" by the females here,......I have already spent thousands on jewelry, lingerie, and the flower routine. She can only wear so much jewelry, and lingerie.
That stuff is mainly for when things are all "new", and gets old fast.
I don't get anything anymore by choice. I tell her not to waste her money on stuff that I don't need,.......a card is fine with me![:D]0 -
I could care less about Valentine's Day, I show and express my love for my wife everyday, I don't have to wait for the 14th of febuary to roll around to so my love for her. The great thing is that my wife feels the same way. 0 -

My wife sent me flowers ONCE. ONCE! With the jackals I worked with that was an invitation that turned ugly fast. Since I was about 15-20 years younger than them it quit after I invited any of them to get in their walkers and meet me in the parking lot! You are bad and evil![;)]. At least get the guy some chocolate or I have a great idea. No, really it is a great idea. Man! I am really really good. Oh, the idea, yea, well here it is. Go down the the gunshop and buy a bunch of the little packets of bore cleaner, oil etc (Uncle Mikes has them) and staple them to some sort of girly stems (I am sure you can get stuff like that at the hobby store) and put them in a vase and deliver them. Ha! He will probably still get picked on but that builds character![}:)]. He will also get something useful. Get cracking girl you are running out of time! P.S. It wasn't the guys picking on me I just don't want flowers. I think that deep down they were jealous but it did make for a long day. Course after I invited them outside they pretty much left me alone for quite awhile! 0 -
