Valentine's Day Double Standard?!?!

I was just wondering how you men feel about getting Valentine's Day gifts?!?

I sent my guy some flowers... I do it every year and every year he gets picked on! LOL. I think this really bothers him, but I just can't help myself... I find it kinda funny but I'm not doing it to get a laugh... I just love him! I want everyone to know he's loved...

So how would you feel if you had flowers sent to you at work, on Valentine's Day and if you got picked on, would you care??

    Booty, here's a Valentine's story for you.

    I asked my wife last week how much latitude I had for getting her "something" for Valentine's Day. Usually it's a card and something silly from the Hallmark shop in town. She replied that, because she had just ordered two Cimarron revolvers and holsters (she is getting into mounted cowboy shooting), we are now broke until next payday. I was released from any obligation to spend a dime, because I couldn't, so I made her a card. She loved it more than a store-bought one.

    There, a GB love story.

    By the way, I hate flowers. Dang waste of money, if sent to me. She sent me flowers once, and I appreciated the gesture but was glad to see them finally die and hit the trash. For the same money, she could have bought a fifth of Gentleman Jack but Nooooo!

    But chocolates would be better.
    And bullets maybe better than chocolates.

    I started boycotting valentines day when I found out it originated in FRANCE! FLOWERS??? No. I would give him a pair of 'really good boots', not the walmart crap. Or maybe some nice quilted camoflauge to wear on those cold mornings (when he's supposed to be deer hunting)[:D][:D][:D]

    I wouldn't mind flowers for Valentines Day,but the other people at work might not care for it.

    You see what my wife does around Christmas,my birthday,Valentines Day and such is make me a great big plate of cookis,brownies and such. She then drops it off on her way to work.
    Today was the same,the cashier up front called me to come pick up my package,another huge tray of cookies she made last night while I was at work. With the cold I have had for last 2 weeks I didn't smell a cookie at all.
    Normally I am referred to as the grumpy old guy,but today I was everyones best friend.

    Wait till work finds out she fixed Rib Eye,Lobster and a big Baked Potato for supper tonight.[:D]

    our annivrsary is the first of feb so i always send my husband something "funny" 2 work.......then he gets his nice gifts at home. This year on the first I sent him a piggy car that "oinks" and two doughnuts, a bunch of flowers and a ballon and had it send to the pd (he is a police officer) then when he got home I had his new computer with a flat screen tv that is the monito set up (37 inches) and today he got a SR9 and a card

    it's called income tax money I'm a stay at home moomy and we claim four kids you do the math. LOL But it has nothing to do with money I spoil my hubby everyday![:D]

    Well OK Now!!! I see there are still the same ol same ol on here! I was just saying that To your comment I dont have plently of money just know how to make things work. I'm a stay at home mommy and my husband is a leo in a small town. so i'm sure you know what that means

    I gave Larry a Colt government 380 for Vday...but I didn't get anything. I'm not mad though....he just isn't into the whole holiday thing (we both forgot our anniversary.) I would have given him the 380 even if it weren't Vday...I just gave it to him because it matched the nickle one I gave him a little while back.

    I got a post-it note on the coffee machine with a happy face and a note that said "Happy Valentines Day I love you" Sure saves $50 for flowers [:)]
