Disrespectful?

The scenario.
Private sale of a "used" firearm, in a city unfamiliar to buyer.

Seller suggests meeting (in the parking lot) at a place that sells guns.
(Big chain store, like....sportsman warehouse [;)])

Buyer does not know where that is at, and suggests meeting (in the parking lot) at a little privately owned gun shop, that he is familiar with. So that after the gun deal he can go into little shop and spend some money. Holster, mags, etc. for his new "used" gun.

Seller says meeting there is "disrespectful" to the little shop owner.

Is it?


P.S. no, despite the title, this thread is not about SP.

    I probably wouldn't do it in a gunshop parking lot but don't really think it is disrespectful. I would be more worried if the gunshop owner saw and decided to get angry about it.

    I buy guns off a private individual about once a year and we meet in a Rite-Aid parking lot partways between both our houses.

    Two guys, one I know vaguely from seeing him around town and the other a total stranger, walk into my yard and ask me if it would be ok for them to grow some pot on the back corner of my woodlot. They tell me that they will give me some money after their harvest and sale. Obviously that is illegal. I own a gunshop and two guys, one is a regular customer and the other is a stranger, make a sale in my parking lot which is my property. Maybe legal, maybe not. How am I, the gunshop owner, to know if the stranger is a (fill-in-the-blank)?

    Why not meet in the parking lot of the local police department, which is presumably public property, make your legal exchange and then drive to the local gun shop and spend your money?

    I would check with the shop owner. It is his parking lot.

    Brought a weapon from a private individual once. He wanted a face to
    face in a parking lot. After some talking I find out the guy used to
    work with me so the transaction was done at his place. A few days
    later I was making a purchase at a local gun shop and brought up the
    incident in conversation. The gun shop worker told me next time, just
    use their parking lot. He stated transactions have been done there
    before without problem. Guess the bottom line is, just ask the shop
    owner.

    Just because the OWNER of the shop says it's OK, doesn't mean it's legal.

    Doing this could possibly lead to a Randy Weaver situation, if the transaction isn't legal, or if the other person in the transaction is being watched by some law enforcement agency for some reason.

    I would want to be certain that a transaction on the property of the gun shop is for sure legal.

    I like the idea of doing it on the property of the PD or Sheriff, with their knowledge.

    Actually - if you're meeting at a gun shop and your buyer/seller is legit, why not go into the store and have the shop do the 4473??

    That would remove all doubt.

    Some missed the point completely.

    Simple exchange, NOTHING illegal, underhanded, or vile going on, as some of you want to think.
    Still a "semi-free" state.

    To clarify a bit. Since some put so much importance on whether or not the shop owners knows what is going on in the parking lot. He would not.

    BOTH shops sell guns.
    BOTH shops are in a strip mall.
    NOT the same strip mall.
    NEITHER shop OWNS the parking lot their patrons USE.
    LOTS of parking, away from the windows, no FLASHING MONEY in front of the owners face, sorry to disappoint some of you.

    Seller says it is OK in one "parking lot", but disrespectful in the other "parking lot".

    Personally, I'd do it wherever the guy wanted me to.

    My thoughts were for the consideration of those folks that are more concerned about the laws, rather than the Constitution.
