I'm down to Paul or Huckabee

I won't vote for McCain, Clinton or Obama, and I'm uncomfortable with Romney. I'm angry with some of Pauls remarks, and I don't have a lot of confidence in Huckabee. That being said, it's either Paul or Huckabee since Hunter is no longer in the running. Guess I've got some hard decisions coming up.

Man, this leaves a fellow in a real pickle! I want a person who will seal the borders, agressively fight the war on terrorism OVER THERE, support the constitution and keep taxes under control. I also want them to control spending and stop the robbing of the social security system as well as not socialize nedicine in the US.

No one comes to mind.

    Realistically, it appears it will come down to McCain vs. Clinton or Obama on the ballot in the General Election. I will not vote for Clinton or Obama and I don't like McCain. So, as a Republican I will be confronted with the decision to vote for McCain or write-in a candidate. [:(]

    It's 99% certain McCain will be the nominee.

    He's not good on 2A issues.

    Romney is worse, IMO. Signed every bad anti-gun bill in MA including an AWB that he crowed about.

    I know some people can't bring themselves to vote for a socially liberal Republican like McCain but IMO he's better than any of the Dems. I will vote for him although I won't like it and all I can do is hope for the best.

    I to would rather have someone else but i will do what I did the last time, vote for the lesser of two evils. Looks like I will be voting for McCain. BTW writing in someone is the same as throwing your vote away. May as well not vote.

    Unless something really unexpected happens between now and November the general election will be Clinton v McCain. My prediction is Clinton will be the next President because of people like me who just can't bring themselves to vote for McCain.

    McCain would be the better choice (lesser of two evils) if for no other reason he would appoint moderate socialist judges vice hardcore socialist judges.

    I'm trying to talk myself into voting for McCain with no success so far.

    Oh jeeez. Better by up every high cap magazine and semi rifle you can afford.

    Either of those two will make a permanent ban on those items...if not worse.

    I would sooner vote for the devil himself than Clinton.

    Of the 4 nominees left on the Republican side, I like none. If it weren't for Paul wanting to pull out of Iraq I'd be for him. As it is I guess I sort of lean towards Mitt.

    I can't stand McCain. Will be going with Huckabee Tuesday but am tempted to put a vote in for Ossama Obamma. I can stand that bitch Billary.

    I like Huck and Paul too but the more research I do on Paul makes me lean more in his direction.

    I just have to add this comment....would someone please knock that smart azz smirk off of Romney's face.[:(!][^]

    I watched about five minutes of the Dem "debate" last night. Barack and Hillary were both bending over backwards to see who could pander to the illegals the most. Barack was bragging about how, in Illinois, he had insured that children of illegals could get free education all the way through college. Hillary was smiling, approvingly. I couldn't take it, had to change the channel.
    McCain is not very good on the border problems, and I understand he just hired a Mexican adviser for his campaign who espouses a "Mexico first" policy.

    Oy Vey!!

    Gonna be tough to vote for any of those above, plus I strongly disagree with McCain on his stance on Iraq. I just don't know.

    When it get to the convention it will be Huckabee that will either throw in with McKenndy or Romney. I think the lesser of all the evils is Romney.

    Well, no matter who wins, we thankfully still have a system of "checks and balances". The President doesn't make the the laws. If your Presidential candidate doesn't win, put the pressure on your Congressional Reps and Senators to remind them who put them there and who can take them out.

    For those of you worrying a bit about the terrorists bringing their fight here..on our soil...

    I ask you to think about something. Just in the back of your mind...aren't you a bit worried about the cells here..as told by the government ? What are they doing..?

    Imagine a scenario where we are hit again..or a couple times. just how long do you think it would take for the problem to go away...permanently ?

    The ONLY thing standing between us and doing what would be right would be the government.I believe that while there might be some loss of life in this country.the problem would be MUCH smaller within 30 days.

    And.if the government used the attack as an excuse to suspend civil liberties.well, that would be all right too.
    Best to have ALL ones enemies exposed at the same time..

    Laws. yet...
    We are in Iraq because of bush.
    We have gun Courts because of bush.
    We have Patriot Acts..because of bush
    We have briefs filed in Second Amendment cases..because of bush
    We have all our phones tapped..because of bush.
    we fully funded the UN..because of bush.
    We have drastically increased BATF funding..because of bush.

    I could go on and on..but whatever is the use.
    Those insisting on being blind...will remain so.

    I'm hoping for Huckabee, but I will vote for Paul should he get the nomination...I will not vote for anyone else.

    JamesRK- Don't forget that although some Conservatives will not vote for McCain many moderates who might vote for the Democrat might go to McCain to avoid the ultra liberal Hillary or Barack.

    I think McCain will have wide appeal. I think he will win.

    This will go to politics soon.

    As angry as I am with some of Paul's statements, I keep going back to the fact that he has maintained one, and only one, position for the last 20 years. That he doesn't waffle, and he tells the truth as he understands it, every time.

    Old Marines have a very singular view on when and how military actions should be taken, and he is not a military minded man. If he wants to be President, he has to deal with that issue, and during these times, he has to deal with it agressively. I wish he would address the issue publicly.

    I have sent him three emails requesting information on where he stands. One was a form letter in return, the second (after I complained about the form answer not answering the question) was from an aid and still didn't answer the question, and the last reply was from the aid again telling me Paul would be making a public announcement on the issue soon, which I'm still waiting for.

    Looks like he's got a lot of politician in him too, but at least I got replies. After three emails to Obama on where he stands on reparations, I still don't have so much as an acknowledgement that they ever received my emails. What does that tell you?

    I liked the balance I saw in Hunter.

    Yes, I liked Hunter the best. But he is not in the race anymore.

    Romney may frighten some, but I like his core conservative beliefs.

    And measured up against McKennedy or ClintObama, there is no question which way I will vote.

    I thank you for your intelligent post and treatment of the man. I have grown so used to the shrill screams of the mentally challenged over on Politics that I could scream, myself.

    As an old Marine..I..and You.. only depend just so far on what the government does. Neither of us will allow savagery in our vicinity..for long.
    If Ron Paul fails in this aspect..he has US to set him straight...unlike the sneaky bystards running that are busily digging the ground out from around our feet...something we may well not be able to stop in time.
    The brief breakdown of security, will lead to a swift healing...unlike the grand scheme of the One Worlders that are plotting a complete takeover of America.
