NEED COMPUTER HELP
I don't know what happened, but I think one of my settings has changed itself. My screen display is HUGE. I can get into the Control Panel, but some of the pages won't display the full page and there is no way to scroll down on them.
Anybody know how I can get a normal display back.
I think the computer thnks I am blind.

Company gave me two more computers that was in storage and one has a windows XP PRO pass word. Problem is it came from the old system and the person who used the computer is long gone. This would make a kid a fair computer to have fun on. I have plenty of memory for it but can't get in!! HELP!! No it's not a CMOS password. I have a two CD system restore that don't work on it. 0 -
I have an INTEL USB video camera and I can take pictures with it and transport them to My Photos file. After that I am lost. I want to be able to send the pictures in email. How do I do that. Instructions must be VERY explicit since I am an idiot when it comes to PCs. My computer genius son is always too busy or not available when I try to get this set up. Maybe some of you here can help. I have VISTA and suddenly I get an error message saying;

Not me but my neighbor does. She can access the internet just fine but cannot enter any site that requires her to use her password, ie, her bank account or her email.

I recently bought a Lexmark all-in-one. When I scan a document to email it out I get a pop up that asks if my incomming server is POP3, IMAP, or HTTP. It also asks if an SMTP server that is used for my outgoing mail. They are talking Greek to me. What the heck is POP2, HTTP, ETC. How do I find out? I'm just plain confused. Any help appreciated. I recently received a CD with parts list for my ATV. I can't get it to load on my computer. I have windows XP. I put it in the reader and nothing happens. Do I have to give it any commands to get it to load? All other CD's I have used had prompts pop up on screen that had to be clicked on or something.

I have a couple of old ISP's that keep showing up on my machine. how can i remove all traces of old ISP's??

Hey ya'll. My FIL just changed from dial-up to a satelite connection. Now we're having trouble with his email. I can send him an email with just words in it and he receives it fine, but if I add a picture (attachment) in it he doesn't receive the email. He uses Outlook Express for his email, and I use AOL (yeah I know). We've tried just about everything with no success. Its got to be some setting we're overlooking. Anyone got any ideas? Speak slowly, I'm not the most computer literate.[:D] Thanks for ya'lls help!

Need to run from main frame to computer about 600 to 700 feet distance. Is there a signal booster that would allow me to do that? Tried it with CAT 5 and It's too slow to be practical. Also is there a wireless unit that will reach out that far? Thanks 0 -
Yesterday, I did an upgrade, the kind that pops up and suggest you upgrade, and it has totally screwed me up. I don't have a favorets place at top of screen to click on. Don't know if it will work; but, use to be that you could remove the system battery for awhile and the password would be wiped out.

You can run the install again (need XP CD) or there is a password crack program that loads/runs from a bootable cd that will allow you access to get into the system. Search the Internet. I'll see if I have it tomorrow and can post it somewhere for you, drop me an email if you cannot get it from any other source. 0 -

Passwords on XP are about useless. Easy to circumvent hehe. Boot up to safe mode, enter as adminstrater, which probably is not passworded, then set turn the password off in users. Users is in the control panel. 0 -

The best password I have seen is to not have a password. When the boot screen pops up and ask for a password, people will try all kinds of words. Sometimes just press enter and see if it will work. Don 0 -

May try creating a password reset disk with computer that is working and then try it on the one that you need..
To create a password reset disk for your local user account, follow these steps:
Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE. The Windows Security dialog box appears.
Click Change Password. The Change Password dialog box appears.
In the Log on to box, click the local computer--for example, click Computer (this computer).
Click Backup. The Forgotten Password Wizard starts.
On the Welcome to the Forgotten Password Wizard page, click Next.
Insert a blank, formatted disk in drive A, and then click Next.
In the Current user account password box, type your password, and then click Next. The Forgotten Password Wizard creates the disk.
When the progress bar reaches 100 percent complete, click Next, and then click Finish. The Forgotten Password Wizard quits and you return to the Change Password dialog box.
Remove and then label the password reset disk. Store the disk in a safe place.
In the Change Password dialog box, click Cancel.
In the Windows Security dialog box, click Cancel.
To gain access to your local user account on a computer that is a member of a domain, or has been disconnected from a domain, follow these steps.
In the Welcome to Windows dialog box, press CTRL+ALT+DELETE.
In the Log On to Windows dialog box, type an incorrect password in the Password box, and then click OK.
In the Logon Failed dialog box that appears, click Reset. The Password Reset Wizard starts. You can use the Password Reset Wizard to create a new password for your local user account.
On the Welcome to the Password Reset Wizard page, click Next.
Insert the password reset disk in drive A, and then click Next.
On the Reset the User Account Password page, type a new password in the Type a new password box.
Type the same password in the Type the password again to confirm box.
In the Type a new password hint box, type a hint that will help you remember the password if you forget it.
Note This hint is visible to anyone who tries to log on to the computer by using your user account.
Click Next, and then click Finish. The Password Reset Wizard quits and you return to the Log On to Windows dialog box. The password reset disk is automatically updated with the new password information. You do not have to create a new password reset disk.
In the Log On to Windows dialog box, type your new password in the Password box.
In the Log on to box, click the local computer--for example, click Computer (this computer), and then click OK.

If the above does not work try this.
You need to pay very close attention when doing this.
You may want to print this out and read it a couple of times before proceeding.
FOLLOW THESE STEPS VERY CAREFULLY:
1. Place your Windows XP CD in your cd-rom and start your computer (its assumed here that your XP CD is bootable as it should be - and that you have your bios set to boot from CD)
2. Keep your eye on the screen messages for booting to your cd Typically, it will be Press any key to boot from cd
3. Once you get in, the first screen will indicate that Setup is inspecting your system and loading files.
4. When you get to the Welcome to Setup screen, press ENTER to Setup Windows now
5. The Licensing Agreement comes next - Press F8 to accept it.
6. The next screen is the Setup screen which gives you the option to do a Repair.
It should read something like If one of the following Windows XP installations is damaged, Setup can try to repair it
Use the up and down arrow keys to select your XP installation (if you only have one, it should already be selected) and press R to begin the Repair process.
7. Let the Repair run. Setup will now check your disks and then start copying files which can take several minutes.
8. Shortly after the Copying Files stage, you will be required to reboot. (this will happen automatically you will see a progress bar stating Your computer will reboot in 15 seconds
9. During the reboot, do not make the mistake of pressing any key to boot from the CD again! Setup will resume automatically with the standard billboard screens and you will notice Installing Windows is highlighted.
10. Keep your eye on the lower left hand side of the screen and when you see the Installing Devices progress bar, press SHIFT + F10. This is the security hole! A command console will now open up giving you the potential for wide access to your system.
11. At the prompt, type NUSRMGR.CPL and press Enter. Voila! You have just gained graphical access to your User Accounts in the Control Panel.
12. Now simply pick the account you need to change and remove or change your password as you prefer. If you want to log on without having to enter your new password, you can type control userpasswords2 at the prompt and choose to log on without being asked for password. After youve made your changes close the windows, exit the command box and continue on with the Repair (have your Product key handy).
13. Once the Repair is done, you will be able to log on with your new password (or without a password if you chose not to use one or if you chose not to be asked for a password). Your programs and personalized settings should remain intact.
And in case you are wondering, NO, you cannot cancel install after making the changes and expect to logon with your new password. Cancelling will just result in Setup resuming at bootup and your changes will be lost.0 -
