[:D][:D][:D] I'd rather go for a root canal without Meds.

Whenever Mrs K says that she'd like to go dancing I tell her to go and enjoy herself with her boyfriend [}:)]. I am 6-2 and weigh about 235 pounds (well, maybe 240 after the holidays) while my wife is 5-4 and weighs about a buck-twenty, we look stupid dancing together!
    I HATE DANCING

The best advice I ever got was from my wife's uncle before we were married. He told me "don't do anything on the first day of your marriage that you don't want to do the rest of your married life"! I always made it a point, early on, to state those things I was dead set against, those for which I would compromise, those that I would be willing to do, and those that I would gladly do! Reflecting back on our approaching 32 years of marriage it seems to have worked for me!

Dancing? The wife wants to sign us up for lessons! Crap! I need a good excuse to get out of this. Just not my bag!
All because of a stupid TV show.........[V][V][V]

when my wife brought this up to me, my first thought was.

"Well, maybe it'll get me laid."

Then she said we had together... so there went that idea.

That is some very sage advice. When I was married to my first wife she'd insist that we go dancing and I went along out of feelings of duty to be a good husband (boy was I stupid back then). Of course she was tall, blonde, absolutely gorgous and I enjoyed showing her off [}:)]. 30 years ago I was tall, lean (about 190 lbs), and athletic looking (several years of wrestling). Today I am still tall, but I'm also old, fat and lazy as hell!

I've never regretted being able to dance. It's come in quite handy, matter of fact.

Twist your ankle the night before the gig, then let the pool boy take the wife dancing and chase the maid around when their gone[:0]

Nothing wrong with having a plan.[}:)]

Marriage is a compromise. Steer her towards the Texas two-step. It's a little hard to get the step down, at first, but the rest is pretty easy. Besides, you get to wear the really cool boots and hat.

I have it worse than you do Kristov, I'm 6-3 @ 210 and my wife is only 4-10, it is just too uncomfortable for us to dance together, unless it's horizontal[;)]

You know guys, if just ONE of you would agree to ball room dancing lessons you might be surprised at just how much fun it is and how APPRECIATIVE (get the drift guys?) your wife would be....You would probably even lose a bit of weight if you went...

and besides, women love to watch a man dance...shows his moves on the floor and in the bed...(flexible)

Points taken as far as the compromise. For instance, today I'm cleaning, and doing laundry. Later on I'll get some booze in me, and bust out some of her Disco stuff! That work BR ?[8D][;)][8D]

It cost me $800 and a lot of evenings taking lessons.
I still can't dance. She finally gave up on me.

Just the thought of that is enough to scare me away from the dance floor!

Didn't that car just run over your foot, man I'm sorry about that.

Or you could go to one session and comment about how pretty the ladies there are, and everybody knows that you can't dance from a hospital bed.

I thought that we were just talking about my wife. My girlfriend is a whole other story [}:)]. Why in the hell would I have to take my wife dancing in order to get her to "buy me" (I pay the bills around here) a new set of golf clubs (or insert whatever I want) when I can just drive over to the pro shop, pull out my Visa card and buy them?

My wife and I were engaged when season 2 of Dancing with the Stars was on tv. We both watched the show together when we could and I asked her if she'd like for us to take lessons. We did and do. Money and time well worth spending.

I really wish I could dance. I watch my father in law dance and he is amazing. That really pulled him in the women. He would dance them around until they fell over with thier legs open from what I've heard.

Just do it. You will be a hero in your own time to all women. The time may come, heaven forbid, when you will wish you did something that you didn't want to just to make her happy.

I needed to have my car washed so I followed your advice and just smiled at Mrs K. Low and behold she was out washing and waxing it in a flash. Upon close inspeaction I noticed she'd left swirlmarks in the paint (I have a black car so this is a critical issue). Luckily she still has enough time to rewax the car before we spend some time together...When she puts dinner on the table [}:)].

That is possibly the lowest, most patronizing thing I have yet to have read on this forum. My god, swirlmarks! How dare she! Thank god she had enough together for you to eat tonight.....
