If they are breaking the law it would be because of the kids, Kids dont have to have much,,but light to read a book at night would be cool..Also i think that parents set the bar for the rest of there kids lives...man this is a tough one 0 -

It is against most city's laws (ordinaces) to live in a home without utilities. Water is required for sanitary service and hygene.
Must be some kind of nut job. I believe if God wants you doing his work, he will provide. If he's not providing, you must not be doing his work, or he hasn't called you to do it.0 -

I am watching the show and so far no he is not working...they have 2 weeks until they are forced out of their house (foreclosure) in 2 weeks....

I have known several families that live like the settler days....no electricity...no plumbing...wood stove heaters and just love it. When I would visit I would almost be envious of how completely calm it seems and very nice compared to what you would think. Living in this way was NOT a hardship....and the people weren't asking for the "Lord's help" with anything.
I bet this moron isn't one of these people....but more likely to be a lazy sot that will never be worth anything. Not a person that chooses to live a certain way because he is able to...but more likely to be a sniveling whiner that blames everyone but himself for where he is (or isn't) today.0 -
Geez I dont think that the bible says God will provide sustance,it is up to us to feed ourselves, this guy is going to find both he and his wife out in the cold and there children in care of child svc. 0 -

He is "encouraging" others to break the law...he has "invented" the red lite photo blocker and wants ppl to buy it cause he says its against the constitution to take your photo if you run a red lite....
Apparantly he made over 1 million when he did another business in Minnesota...something to do with Nordic Trac...but the wife's mother says there was never any money...
The sister is coming on now...sister of the husband that wont work....he said the lord led him in this path...The pastor that Dr. Phil brought on said the husband is very misguided, and stated there are over 2300 verses in the bible about working and taking care of your family....
The husband still insists the lord will provide...the lord will stop the foreclosure etc...

Well, I have lived (quite well, thank you) in a home without electricity, or running water. As did MANY other folks at that time. Mind you, I did NOT say without heat in cold weather, nor without light. I did NOT say in unsanitary conditions- we were clean, as were our clothes and the house. AND we (and our folks) worked damned hard, and cared for their families. Do not confuse sloth with a simple lifestyle. I am friends with several Mennonite families here- hardest working folks you would ever want to meet. And really good neighbors. 0 -

Superstition or not, and regardless of their personal beliefs that are protected by the 1st amendment of the Constitution (I hope we all agree that it still applies and don't try to negate the parts of the Constitution we don't like) they still are not working to provide for their children, and to protect the children, someone needs to remove them and put them where they have their needs met. I can't find anything to disagree with you on about this issue.
I don't care if this "father" chose to "walk the earth" (aka be a bum) like that guy in "Kung Fu", but I don't want to hear about children going hungry because he's being a bum. Children going hungry makes me want to kill whoever is responsible. At least in foster care they will have 3 square meals a day...0 -
