Myopia Triumphs AGAIN!!
So once again we see a glimmer of real intelligence snuffed because it sits crossways to someone's personal agenda. Yeah, I'm talking about P-brute, banned for the same reason several have been, for strangling another poster by using their OWN words. I read EVERY word proffered and rebutted and saw he wasn't going to last long. Any time someone challenges the boards to think, actually formulate a cogent thought; they're kicked off because they're controversial. Give me a freakin' break, guys, the Constitution of the Unites States was controversial. We did the same thing to Mark C, and DWS has quit posting anything meaningful, well done.
I'm fully aware come `cracker' or `pencil-neck' (both sides of the spectrum there just for balance) will get it deleted, so have at it. If the shoe fits wear it, bearing in mind it'll inhibit your speech a little, which may not be a bad thing.

I liked having PB around, my only problem was that he typed so fast you didn't get a chance to answer. I will say that he showed zero respect for the rules and he probably should have been on one of the other forums, but he sure brought some life to the party. Which is exactly why I immediately unlocked it.
Clouder was right about why I initially locked it...it had to do with Paleobrute and I took Walley's post as a question. I answered the question and then locked it...and about 4 seconds later, unlocked it...it kind of seemed like this thread was beating a dead horse.0 -
Well I am not one to normally post my opinion on things but.....
I read with interest the way a dislike for a poster by a moderator who then went on the offensive to do everything he could do to oust him. This included baiting him and even threatening him. Although the threats were veiled, they were threats. ECC, you want my address? It has already been posted here on this forum. This of course is only my opinion, but it is well worth your time to know it. Don0 -

I think we're on the same side about the constitution. I take the position that, sadly, the convoluted way the 2A is written gives the anti-gun side some sembliance of being correct when they challenge it as not giving total, unrestricted gun rights to citizens. Even though I believe it pretty much does. Especially when backed-up by the KS and MO constitution which says it even more clearly (except for no constitutional concealed carry in MO)
But if I go the the gun rights and constitutional law forum on GB.com and express any myself like this I get a lot of anger and hate. Even though I am also a gun lover, have done a lot to at least try to help with gun rights and even though all us gun lovers are basically on the same side of the table.
I still get insults and hate and anger thrown at me.
All patriots believe in the Constitution, de facto. Right now, the SCOTUS is considering what the 2nd amendment means. This is a court that is less liberal than those in the recent past and reflects more closely my political views. This is the process the Constitution described. Article Five of that document specifically states HOW the original can be amended. If they thought the Constitution was perfect they would not have provided what they did in the fifth article. They also said, any amendment ratified is part and parcel to the original document. I am going to leave the decision to the Supreme Court and live by it. If I find it onerous, I'll agitate to change it, again, but until that time, I obey it. That's the process.
We can and should debate the 2nd amendment. "Gun nuts" take great exception to being threatened, and that includes me. The difference is mostly how we respond to that threat.

Both were doing what they felt compelled to do. We, the by-standers, take sides, we almost have to. Taking sides does not mean attacking the other, at least not in civilized discourse. Eric presented what he sees as the truth, PB, had hen been allowed would have done the same. WE then get to judge where we come down on the debate. It can be fun and educational. It can also get nasty. It can also be stymied needlessly.

Now I wish I had read more of his posts. I think I read enough of them to have a general idea of where he stood. I can't say I agree with much of what I saw, but I actually kind of like the guy.
Having somebody around who doesn't agree with you isn't necessarily a bad thing. Preaching to the Choir can get to be boring.
Is he permanently banned or just in the penalty box for a while?

As you WELL know, not everything that happens in a forum, is left out in the open, for everyone to see. Once someone goes off the deep end, things can happen in a hurry. Posts were poofed, etc. Did you see them ALL?
Criticize all you want, but if locking someone out, for BLATANTLY breaking the posting guidelines, after being REPEATEDLY warned, were left up to a vote. After taking in ALL the facts, I now have to wonder where YOUR vote would go?

I'm not sure I'm following you Don, but I offered PB my address, b/c he was implying that we (anyone who disagreed with him) was hiding behind the internet. He emailed me and I sent him my address phone number and offered directions as well...so I'm not really sure where you are going with this train of thought...I never asked for PB's address.0 -
Personally, I belive in the freedom to express yourself. I don't belive that extends to mean name calling when it suits oneself.
PB expressed his opinion really well until he felt cornered, then he lashed out like a child. Some of us are guilty of this too, just not to that extent.
I firmly belive PB was here with an agenda. He spent too much time talking, and little time listening. He felt he was allways right, even when he was shown he was wrong.
If he can't act like an adult, good ridance.
Some of you are quick to bad mouth good people. I trust ECC AND Pickenup. They are BOTH fair.0
