OLD TROOPER POST..DONT DELETE PLEASE
I posted this before and it was wiped out by the powers that be.. So i will be vague. I just got home from the in-laws and guess what???? For the 4th time in my life i got a ticket. I was doing 61 in a 55 and the STATE TROOPER came up to my car with wife and kid with me and already made up his mind to ticket me. 6 mph over and didnt care to even ask me anything, just wrote it...All 4 from state TROOPERS. Heres the thing, last time i was pulled over and ticketed i was doing 58 in a 55...I was shocked that he did it. thought maybe he was K-9 looking for drugs but no...he thought i really was doing bad by going 3 mph over..IT MAKES ME ILL...BTY..I come from a family of law...And guess what They aint State police and they fell the same way..AS does police here from GB...

don't feel bad Me and a Friend got pulled over by a shereff here in upstate SC for going 64 in a 60, said i didn't show caution when i went by him and his pals, i was in the middle lane, he was on a exit ramp behind a barrier.
i got a written warning for it, no ticket. But yeah that does suck0 -
Oklahoma has a ZERO tollerance for speeding on it's highways. They will give you a ticket for 1 mph over on the Will Rodgers turnpike! However they do have signs up informing motorists of the policy. 0 -

My local police have Traffic Officers, Patrol Officers and Supervising Officers.
If you get stopped by Traffic Officers (red chevrons) you are not getting out of the ticket.
If you get stopped by a Patrol Officer (green chevrons) you'll only get a ticket if it was really a bad infraction.
If you get stopped by a Supervisor, you have already committed a felony, because they don't stop anyone for less than a felony.
Texas Stae Troopers are 50/50. If you're straight up with them, it goes to 70/30. If you lie or don't have insurance, it's 0/100 you're going to get a ticket.0 -

Out of all the years I've been driving four were for 61 in a 55. One Was a rental car and I had the cruise set for 55.
One I hit a slight decline in the road and the car picked up speed saw the lights as I was hitting th brakes.
and One I was delivering Toys for Tots while I was in the Marines. Same thing hit a decline in the road and picked up speed was not quick enough in backing off.
That one Was a $5 ticket judge was a female and looked like I had slaped her when I told her what I was doing that day. She gave the officer a very dirty look. She then told me she had to fine me it was the law but the ticket was just $5. I was in A Marine Corps Van and it was ful to the top with toys.
One on My Motorcycle that I was real lucky on I was slowing down when He caught me. So did noty argue at all.
My other tickets I fully and completly deserve.0 -

that sign on the side of the road that says "speed limit 55mph"; did you think that was like a suggestion or was only for everybody else or what?
am i holier than thou? absolutely not. im usually to be found somewhere in the low to mid 70's in our 55 zones on the highway. but if i get a ticket, i know i deserve it.0 -
Over the limit is over the limit. It sucks when they don't give a few MPH leeway but they aren't required to do it.
I heard on a news broadcast while visiting CA last month that all local cops were ordered to write as many tickets as possible to help with the budget shortfall in that welfare state. Maybe your state is also looking for increased revenue?
I drive 65 in a 70 and never get tickets. I wave at the troopers parked in the median with their radar guns. And I also get a 3 MPG improvement.0 -

I have saw guys that lived there get tickets for anything. As long as the Officers knew that they would show up for court and pay the tickets they would get stopped four or five times a year for nothing.
The guys that got fed up with them started telling the judges that they were not going to pay no fine, court cost or nothing. Just throw me in jail.. When the cops saw the guys refusing to pay up and sending time in jail the tickets stopped..0 -

70s in a 55 u do deserve the ticket but 9 or under common law enforcement usually let it go...dont be ignorant[:(!]0 -

Got stopped doing 90 in a 65 once in ND. I was in no position to do anything but look a little ashamed of myself. When the officer handed me the $42 ticket I shook his hand and thanked him. This wasn't that long ago....I figured I was into it for a couple hundred at least.....sorry, I know I'm off topic. 0 -

+1! and that from a LEO.. 6 over is BS and that guy was a) boared b) had some quota he was trying to make or c) had it out for you peronaly.. my guess a or b..

both these incidents happend almost 20 years ago...
only speeding ticket was by a State Trooper, becuase I wasn't paying attention to the truckers who were slowing down (too busy changing a casette tape ). 66 in a 55. Got a ticket. Paid it. Moved on.
Fast foward 2 years. Should have been arrested for speeding, falling asleep behind the wheel, and probably DUI when pulled over by a State Trooper. This guy was a saint, heard my sorry tale of woe involving a long distance GF I was on the way to "re-unite" our relationship[;)][:p], and let me go after buying me coffee at a HJ and telling me to sleep for a few hours B4 driving again.
Luck of the draw, I guess. The 2nd trooper was grey haired and close to retirement, mabye he remembered some of the stupid stuff he pulled when he was a young guy.0 -
Years ago I got followed by a Missouri State Trooper for about 10 miles before the red lights came on. The problem? Going 72 in a 70 zone. I got a stern lecture and had my car searched for 2 mph over. I guess I escaped the handcuffs because the trunk was full of catalogs and samples from the cop shop I worked at. I was on my way to a police convention as a sales rep, and that seemed to save me from a 2 mph speeding ticket or worse. 0 -

after I got home from desert storm I was on leave
driving across the states from SC in alabama I
started down I long grade the speed picked up.
I had a cooler between the seats, he ask if I had
been drinkin, I said alot of coke. He laughed.
ask if he could searchmy truck. I said sure have
at it. I opened my back grabbed a chair, sit down
opened a coke, He laughed and said I was laid back.
the first vacation I ever took, He let me go.

I know some wise cracks that fill a large cooler with rat snakes, shake it up, throw it in the back of their truck and go out looking for roadblocks in dry counties. 0
