OLD TROOPER POST..DONT DELETE PLEASE
I posted this before and it was wiped out by the powers that be.. So i will be vague. I just got home from the in-laws and guess what???? For the 4th time in my life i got a ticket. I was doing 61 in a 55 and the STATE TROOPER came up to my car with wife and kid with me and already made up his mind to ticket me. 6 mph over and didnt care to even ask me anything, just wrote it...All 4 from state TROOPERS. Heres the thing, last time i was pulled over and ticketed i was doing 58 in a 55...I was shocked that he did it. thought maybe he was K-9 looking for drugs but no...he thought i really was doing bad by going 3 mph over..IT MAKES ME ILL...BTY..I come from a family of law...And guess what They aint State police and they fell the same way..AS does police here from GB...

I got busted for a d.w.i. thirty years ago, while working out of town, i beat the charge. I was caught doing eighty on a sixty, a day later. Went in front of the same J.P. and pleaded not guilty. The J.P. had me pick him up the next day, I got busted for going 26 mph on a 25 mph zone. All the tickets were from the same state bull. The J.p. gave me a break.Twenty years later my nephew was going thru the state bull traing.Yup the same state bull was one of his training officers. It turned out that my second cousins made life hard on the state bull when he was a kid, he hated any and everybody with my last name. 0 -
I talk to a lot of cops. Most state would not even look at you unless you are going at least 10 over. Now if you are in a school zone, city or county will drop the hammer hard for anything over the posted limit. Most "cops" take the circumstances into consideration. 0 -
It's all luck. I could get a $5000 speeding ticket and STILL be WAY AHEAD!
I've been able to talk my way out of/bond with ossifer each and every time since 1967.
Once was on my birthday - so he wished me a happy birthday and gave me a warning.
... it's all the 'luck of the draw!'

107 in a 45 on my way back to Camp Lejune in 1974. Real late sunday night (actually it was already monday morning) and had to be in formation at 0800. I was already in uniform and just so happened the cop was a former Marine. He gave me a ticked for 50 in a 45 and let me go. He should have sent me to jail for reckless driving. Real nice guy. Made Onslow beach in record time even with being stopped by the state trooper.
Fast forward to 1989. Right out of Winchester Va. on some lonesone back country highway. Doing 55 in a 55 in a little red Corvette. 18 wheeler flys by me probably doing 80 or more. State trooper pulls me over and gives me a ticker for doing 83 in a 55. I ask him if he saw the 18 wheeler and he acted like a dumb a## and said there was no 18 wheeler anywhere.
Fast forward to 1994. Having a Fight party one night and ran out of beer. I was the "least drunk" of the group so I make a beer run. The store was like 500 yards from the house. I was driving a really hot Monte Carlo (650 hp) and just gave it a little to much gas coming out of the parking lot at the convenience store. Just a little fish tail but enough to catch the attention of a state trooper. As I pull in my driveway he blue lights me. Now I had all kinds of woods to go hide in and knew if i made to the woods he would never catch me. But, the car was my nephey's and knew it would be towed so I just sat there and was ready to take my punishment like a man. He was a real nice trooper and ask me for the useaul stuff when my niece comes out and really puts the southern charm on him. Let me tell you that she was hotter than the Monte Carlo I was driving. Blond hair, blue eyes, hooters out to here, you get the picture. He actually gave me one of those breathalizers (?) and I know I had atleast 15 beers in me and plenty of moon shine. He ended up giving me a ticket for speeding something like 50 in a 45. Real nice state trooper.
Fast forward to 1996. My niece and this same state trooper gets married and are still happyly married today (5 kids)[8D]. When we get together he never lets me forget about driving while I was so drunk and to this day I have never gotten behind the wheel again while drinkling.0 -

Let me say this so all you "law and order" types can understand it.
A TRAFFIC TICKET IS A CLOAKED, BS TAXATION DEVICE MEANT TO GENERATE INCOME TO KEEP MORE POLiCE ON DUTY THAN IS REALLY NECESSARY.0 -

Concur. Most troopers/highway patrol are not real police. They are traffic control automatons who work wrecks and write tickets. They get pumped up that they are the elite state law enforcement but have little knowledge of anything criminal not involving an automobile. Their grandmothers better not speed as they will write them a paying ticket!
I do love it so when they call at dinnertime solicting contributions! A couple have hung up on me. [;)]0
