I had a 1911 once which had some issues with accuracy. I got hounded to death here about them. I wish I would have never mentioned the issue. The potential solutions were endless, but the biggest one was the shooter. Well, it did eventually get solved...and I'm not going to say how here, but it was. And, It wasn't the shooter! There was actually something physically wrong with the pistol. I probably won't buy a Kimber 1911 again anytime soon, because it was a multi-layer problem which they should have found, but they didn't

Anyway, super glad you got it figured out, and I'm glad you stuck to your guns and stayed calm, not worrying about all the hens here cackling. Personally, for the record, I'd have blown that crap out of the barrel with some TNT mixed with C4 and a timed charge! (JUST kidding!) Anything else is just..."amateur"!!

    🤣

That, or the problem was just the simple fact you can't shoot! You know! Barrel obstruction be danged! You limp wristed panty waste!

Anyway, glad you got it fixed. Hopefully, you and the grandkids have many fun years shooting that rifle!

Indeed...now I just hope that the upgraded trigger I got for it will truly fix the issues I am having with the bolt.

I will say...I am going to keep this rod though...it may prove very useful again some day.

The other thing I'm going to do is refinish the crown, which I was actually planning on doing anyway. So hopefully it all works.

I am very proud that on my third post I correctly diagnosed that the wooden dowel rod had sheared and wedged tight in the bore. Does this mean that I get to be the resident forum gun smith?

If Congress had the intelligence and tenacity that our members on the forum have, our troubles would be over.

Good for you Kidthatsirish, "Persistence Pays Off" -------------------------------------Ray

The BIG question is, are you going to sign up to be a Merit Badge Counselor for Riflery?

    BE PREPARED.

I would say that Kidthatsirish has earned his Merit Badge and is now Prepared with his custom fitted brass rod at the ready.--------------Ray
