Update on my wife - UPDATE TO THE UPDATE
The results of the biopsy were positive for cancer, which we expected. Yesterday we met with the surgeon to go over different procedures, outcomes, and the results of the biopsy. The good news is that her cancer is not aggressive, is slow-growing, and was caught early. They don't think the tumor has involved any lymph nodes, but will probe the channels up to her armpit looking for any issues.
Janet is now scheduled for a lumpectomy Thursday morning. As bad as this could have turned out, I think of this as good news.
After the surgery, she will need many radiation treatments, and about 5 years of chemo pills.
Hopefully, she can have a normal summer next year.
Joe

I got Janet home a while ago. The surgery went very well. They took out 2 lymph nodes and both were negative. They think they got all the cancer, but they won't know until they test the surrounding tissue.
She's resting comfortably right now, but is in some pain and kind of woozy. I'm glad that is behind us and hope the tests come back negative.
Thanks again for all of your well wishes.
Take care, Joe

Knowing what she is dealing with is a big step. Now a treatment plan is in place. This is good news, sending our best wishes and prayers that all goes well. 0 -
Providing they are right about the lymph glands it sounds like you got some encouraging news. Will keep you folks in my prayers. Bob 0 -

early in the game to a good doc can be a life saver....friend went to doc about something that had been lightly bothering him for a while and when doc took a peek he said "sorry" but you need to go home and get your affairs in order......wishing you a +++++ outcome 0 -

Thanks for all your concerns, well wishes, and prayers, we really appreciate it. Things were looking pretty bleak for a while earlier, but the prognosis looks better now, hopefully, that will continue to be true. Our 50th anniversary is in September and I was scared we wouldn't be able to celebrate it together. The future looks a little brighter now.

I'll let you know how things turn out after the surgery. Thanks again from Janet and Joe

Scary stuff, but you’re right, that sounds like a good finding with catching it early. Wishing you a happy 60th, 10 more years down the line too!

I lost my own wife to cancer. I stuck by her through it all, and no regrets. I would only suffer them had I not done so. You keep doing what you're doing, Bubba. They say we all die alone, and maybe it's true. But right up until that very last instant, no woman who has a good man should ever feel that she's alone. 0 -
That is good news Joe. Thanks for the update. Best wishes and Prayers to you and your Wife.

BTW I don't mean to imply that your wife is in as much trouble as mine was! Seems to me she's gonna be okay.
