Impossible Whopper Review
The taste is like beef gravy mix or beef broth.
The texture is mostly like a very well done beef patty but still a little bit like vegetarian burgers made of beans and rice.
The cost is well above an ordinary Whopper.
I will not get it again if ordinary Whoppers are available.

I?ve actually made omelettes with ostrich egg, as well as used it in various baked goods (cake, loaf bread, cookies and biscuits). Tasty stuff.

We have a Bison Meatloaf at my gun club that is very popular. They use the same mix to make the meatballs as well. Last nights special was Wagyu Brisket slow smoked on the Green Eggs. I had asparagus and loaded au gratin potatoes as sides. That made up for the idiots that were monopolizing the trap field. Chef Larry tells me we will have bone marrow back on the menu tomorrow!!0 -
The Navy bought into some of that crap back in the 1960s. I think they were soy burgers back then. I find it difficult to believe they are any better today than they were fifty years ago.
I say ?difficult to believe? vice ?impossible to believe? giving the benefit of the doubt to the people who can actually swallow them. In all honesty, if I were at gunpoint and under the threat of death I would attempt to eat one of them. Otherwise, no way in hell.
The best thing I can say about their commercial is there are more disgusting commercials on my TV now.0 -
I'd rather eat a "cow patty" than one of the "fake burgers". Basically the same ingredients but the real "cow patty" might be safer and healthier. 0 -
Here is another thought I had concerning plant burgers; there are 391,000 species of plants on earth so "Plant Based" is as broad a description as could possibly be offered for something that they want you to eat. No better than advertising a "Meat Based" burger knowing that there are 8.7 million species of animals on earth, sorry but that's just too damn broad of a range for me, I want to know exactly what I'm eating as much as that is possible.
Beef burgers by law, have to contain beef, same with Turkey burgers, pork and fish products as well, doesn't seem to be any rules (that I know of) when it comes to plants. They could be feeding us lawn clippings for all we know.0 -
Ingredients: Extracts of hemlock, datura, nightshade... 0 -
I haven't tried one yet but just for the novelty I probably will. To be fair It is plant based and I like grilled veggies, so what is the difference? They just cut out the middle man... er.. cow. I did check out the nutrition info and it is higher in sodium and saturated fat and lower in protein than a comparable beef whopper. Not for someone on a restricted salt or fat diet. Seems like a solution in search of a problem but I'll give it a try. One of these days we'll be eating beef grown in a test tube anyway. Bob 0 -
Beef, pork, poultry, beer, wine, pastries, bread, and chocolate are all "plant based" foods, too, you know. Only the method and degree of processing varies.

Yep.
Beyond Nasty.
Cured me of BK, for about 2 months now.
Just Nasty.
If they were .25? a piece. They would still suck. (Not be worth it.) Absolutely horrible.0 -
I read an article this morning of how Arby's has come up with a meat based vegetable to counter BK's new introduction! It almost sounded like fake news, but I think it is true!
8-) It pictured something that resembled a carrot.
Arby's is sticking to their "We Got The Meat" logo pretty well and I for one will be dining there instead of BK from now on.0 -
The Marrot. Im pretty sure its a joke.

I had one. Yep couldn't tell the difference from the regular pink slime one. Did notice it costs a lot more. I try not to buy or eat fake (fast) food. 0 -
GreatGuns wrote:I totally agree Bob. I've taken two courses (4 months training) in molecular gastronomy and can guarantee we're heading in that direction. Most think it's simply "novelty" but it utilizes so many different methods and elements, placed in suspension or cooked only until safe to eat.

Jim
Kind of like New Coke, Pepsi Clear, ect. Liberals will only go with the fad for a while. If you have ever ate a suspended possum, then you know there is no substitute. I studied gastronomy with Pabst and it will never be suspended in your gastro track long.

I have avoided anything from Booger King for years now. This new atrocity is aptly named because the chances of me eating one are impossible. 0
