Looking at the news the NYPD is taking a beating. People are throwing trash at them piling crap on their cars when the are away and there is a violent protest against having more police in the subway.

Nearly a thousand protesters took to the streets of Brooklyn to demonstrate against the NYPD after a spate of violent arrests on the subway and over its plans to put more officers on the beat to catch anyone who skips paying the fare.

The protesters started gathering in Downtown Brooklyn near Barclays Center at about 7pm Friday, with their signs reflecting the dual nature of the march.

While flashier banners bore slogans such as 'Don't let these pigs touch us,' 'F**k the police,' 'Punch that cop' and 'NYPD out of MTA,' other signs read 'Free transit,' 'Poverty is not a crime' and 'Our subways need more $ for elevators, not for cops.'

Their grievances stem from two issues. One, alleged police brutality against New Yorkers including a group of teenagers who officers were seen fighting with in a recent viral video.

The other issue is that police have vowed to create 500 additional jobs specifically for officers to monitor the subway network and arrest anyone who jumps the barriers rather than pay the $2.75 fee.

Over the last month. several videos have emerged of NYPD cops violently arresting seemingly nonviolent subway riders.

One, which circulated last week, showed them pounding on the windows of a subway car, waiting for the doors to open, before rushing on board, tackling the man to the ground. It is unclear why he is wanted. He had his hands in the air for several minutes before they arrested him and bystanders say the officers drew their guns.

Video posted to Facebook on Halloween shows a New York Police Department vehicle that was covered with trash while passersby gleefully taunt the officers who were cleaning it up by saying ?trick or treat, m***** f*****s!?

The amateur video was filmed on cell phone by an individual who passed by the vehicle that was parked on the corner of East 95th Street and Clarkson Avenue in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn.

In the video, a number of residents and passersby are heard laughing and mocking the two uniformed officers who are removing the trash from their vehicle.

?This is what happens in the hood. Police get trash,? says the man filming the video.

    Must've taken the game plan from the Bay Area "BART". I remember reading some areas were no go for the "cops" but these days they got more issues as "folks" using BART as a shooting gallery. Maybe NY can put aside areas as shooting gallery to quell the masses and see how that'll change those folks minds on cops on deck.

Unfortunately,the State and it's militarized enforcement arm has earned it's well deserved reputation in the public eye. But again,it's never their fault cause they're just doin muh job..

    You can't extrapolate into an entire population the behaviors exhibited by a small portion of that population.

    This is exactly what the left needs to happen, for the bottom to rise up, so that they justification to bring the top down. This is nothing new, they are intentionally stoking the flames of falsehood, using their ignorant pawns to ultimately bring about totalitarian force. And the rest of society will applaud them for it.

    Wow talk about sounding like an Antifa member. Just exactly how do you propose that our society keep order? Are there bad cops - sure. There are also bad clergy, bad doctors, bad car repairmen, etc... Do you judge all professions by the actions of a few? I think you are probably someone who resents having to conform to societies norms and is afraid of getting caught by the big bad police. Me, I don't worry to much. Never been intimidated or extorted.     Apparently I haven't been doing it right...I haven't extorted anyone in my entire career. Oh yes, that's it...issuing a traffic summons for someone speeding in violation of a civilized societies norms and laws is considered extortion....we should all just live in complete anarchy.

    Just for the record I support police cracking down on real criminals like, rapists,kidnappers,robbers and murderers. What I don't support is the revenue generators of the elite. If there is no victim there is no crime. Pretty simple really.

    Like said before this is a lot about respect and that respect was taught and earned.

    As a kid I was always taught, by my parents and at school to respect or elders and those in Law enforcement. I was taught to do what I was told and to not argue with the police.

    That is out the door nowadays.

    Just look at videos of people fighting over a chicken sandwich or killing someone over a parking place. You are right you have to respect yourself and you have to have some pride in yourself...................these animals don't

    And the funny thing is if there were no police to protect most of those idiots they would be the 1st to go, they may cause some problems but eventually people would band together and run them out of town or rub them out.

    Shilowar, I guess we both missed the extortion, trampling rights, etc, boat. Where did we go wrong? I do agree respect has to be earned, but, that being said, in today's environment, during a large part of our daily encounters, respect means nothing when ya have some idiot in screaming your face and...ah, I'm preaching to the choir.
    All these years in this line of work, a bunch of holes in me I wasn't born with, scrap lead and copper all over, titanium and cobalt steel taking the place of bone, yep must have missed that damn boat once again.

    Revenue generators are mostly traffic violations. I for one want them to stop every drunk driver, idiot tailgater, a$$hole who thinks it is OK to drive 90mph, text while driving idiot and careless driving dip$hit out there. Perhaps we should raise the cost of the fines. By pulling over that drunk maybe we prevent there being a victim. Or should we wait until he kills someone? If you don't want to contribute to the revenue stream then either don't drive or do it responsibly.

    Sam, personal observation/experience, virtually EVERY large metropolitan area is only one major weather or other event away from total anarchy. The second something happens what passes for "society" descends into chaos. Baltimore was a prime example several years back when St. Freddie the Departed did his thing in the transport wagon. Folks, keep your powder dry as the saying goes.

    Like when Katrina destroyed New Orleans and the entire police Dept ran away and started looting with all the thugs? Won't even get into all the 2a trampling with the gun confiscations...
