Textron Tracker OX 400 UTV -
Anyone own one?
Looking for feedback.
401cc single cylinder, EFI, 2WD basic UTV, made in America. (Minnesota/Georgia.)
$5799 new.
For what I am looking for, it may be the ticket. I would appreciate hearing from anyone that owns one. (If any here.)

"Vis a vis" the Kawasaki Mule, for example.
Please get your facts straight.
We are talking about a basic 2wd, made in the USA UTV, at $5700+ delivery.
For what I need/require it to do, most adequate, for it's intended purpose.0 -

For what I need/require it to do, most adequate, for it's intended purpose.
As I see it. All your spinning, is a motorized golf cart. Fixed up cosmetically, to look like a side by side. I live out in the boonies. Your $5700 UTV ,wouldn't last a month. Durability is what counts out there. Don't see your golf cart, standing up for the long haul. There are a number of 2 wheel drive quads, and side by sides in use. They stand up OK. Long as they aren't driven, into hazardous areas.0 -

I was checking local dealers & our Farm Store carries the Landstar by Landmaster. I did a drive-by today & will stop tomorrow to check them out further. According to the site, they out source parts, but use name brand engines and fabricate them in the USA. Prices seem reasonable & the store, which is very reputable, services what they sell. Also, they have a $1000 rebate this month.

"I stopped by the Bass Pro in Clarksville today, had to take the last train. I looked over some of the Tracker equipment. They did not have the OX 400 on the floor. The salesman told me they can't keep them in stock. The OX 400 is selling well. There were other models there. Just to look at them they look solid enough for the use you intend. I did notice a person may want to secure the front brake lines better on a couple of models but wouldn't be an issue on the OX 400. That is the only thing that really jumped out at me. However I really don't spend much time around equipment of this sort, so keep that in mind.
I spoke with the salesman and explained why I was checking them out, he was helpful, after all he's a salesman.
Bass Pro used to carry Artic Cat equipment. Textron bought Artic Cat. Textron made some changes (what exactly I don't know) and markets these vehicles under the Tracker name at a lower starting price. The engines are made in Georgia, that's Georgia USA. The OX 400 has a 13.5 hp air cooled pressurized oiled engine, 23" Tires, rear wheel mechanical drum brakes (self adjusting), speed of 16.5mph, continuous variable transmission, forward and reverse, outside turning radius 23.5 feet. The bed has a 500 lb rating with gas piston assisted manual dumping.
It has a 2 year warranty.
The Mechanical drum brakes instead of 4 wheel hydraulic disc brakes probably helps keep cost down. But the top end isn't that high to start with.
Out the door cost on this unit here in Indiana is $6600.93. That includes 7% Indiana sales tax, tittle, document, and freight charges.
Edit: Forgot to include that Bass Pro provides maintenance and sells parts."

My only comment is that the Textron Tracker OX 400 is 401cc. That is not a "13.5 hp" engine.

I am aware of my requirements and needs, as well as where I plan on using it. I would ask - (Are you?)
(Edit) Some of you Guys are funny. We do not all "need," a BA 4wd UTV, for our needs and requirements. Modified "Golf Cart?" (Made by Can-Am. A 401cc engine, posi-trak rear, off road tires, lifted suspension, 500lbs "assisted dump" bed capacity, a 2" hitch with a 1200lbs towing capacity, etc. etc. So be it. (Yeah, Can -Am apparently, makes those also.) :shock: :roll:

Make sure you get the matching dirt bike to go with it.

While I appreciate what you are saying Brother. I am planning on retiring in two years. Everything by then, needs to be paid off 100%. I am well aware of the limited capabilities of a 2wd. Long time Redneck/4 wheeler. The only restrictions/problems I foresee are in the snow. I have been all over the trails around here in my Jeep. I know I could go apprx. 90% of the areas I have been, in a small 2wd. My outlook/plan for this vehicle are rather limited in scope.
$18k, is beyond my Toy budget, given the restraints I have discussed above. I have other things I plan on utilizing my extra cash on, in terms of home improvements, etc.
I've got some things I need to sell, that are languishing in my 30X40' metal outbuilding.

How About GEM E2 all electric? I have one that is street legal (Low Speed Vehicle) and about 40 mph after mods. 30+ miles range. You can get them dried in. GEM E2 on fleabay search for one South of Atlanta. If you need to haul it, I have a trailer made for mine in Salem, SC you could borrow.
