Hiding spare keys
Without going into specifics, Where /or if does anyone hide the spare set of keys. Mine is an old paint can, stilled covered in the paint runoff, although the inside is dry and clean. I even put in a piece of foam and a rock to provide weight.
I have a couple of out buildings that both have 1/2 opened pain cans ( I just can't throw away once used paint ). It's easy to hide about anything there.

A fake outlet box/light switch is an excellent option. 0 -
I haven?t used a key to get into my house or garage in years. We replaced all the locks with electronic deadbolt locks. They still have keys but the keys are stored in the house key locker.
All 7 exterior doors have a common 4 digit combination that Ms. WT and I use. We put in guest combos too.
The only keys that I ever carry are the single key for the vehicle that I?m driving.
I don?t miss having a heavy keychain to lug around.0 -
I have a key for the house that I keep on my key ring but I've not used it in years. I use the garage door opener to get in the house. I keep an extra battery for the garage door opener in the car and truck and the key for backup in case the garage door openers don't work. 0 -
As Rocky mentioned, a fake outlet box will work,....as will one of those fake sprinkler heads if you have a sprinkler system of course. Don't put it too close to the door as to be obvious.
I know guys that tape a key to the inside lid of the AC disconnect box too.0 -
Best to ask a thief. They know all of the good hiding places.

Spare house key in a magnetic key holder stuck to the frame of our outbuilding. You'd have to be desperate to find it if you don't already know the location.
On a side note--I have $50 stashed in one of those boxes up under the dash of my pickup. I left home one time without my wallet, got 40 miles away before discovering that.0 -
I thought the AC disconnect box was good, too. Until a cop told me it's as well-known to bad guys as "under the flower pot." 0 -

Same here. But I don?t even carry my truck key!its left in the truck and I use the keypad on the truck door to get in.0 -

What I love are the articles written about safe hiding places. I think it was Family Handyman that had an article a while back talking about fake outlets, dummy light fixtures and the fake soup/oil cans for hiding stuff. Don't they think the bad guys ever at least look at the pictures in their magazines? Bob0 -

I used to do that when I traveled a lot.
I would pull the seat belt out as far as it would go then tape a $50 to it and let it retract0 -

I work in a lot of homes while the owners are away. I bet I could come up with a list of 50 places people hide keys. Inside a sewer cleanout plug is a good one, as is inside a fake rock. 0 -
Inside the garage door opener...
We have a electronic code lock on the front door. And a keypad on garage trim.

I keep my spare keys in the other pocket. Truck keys in the right pocket with a house key, and other keys in the left pocket with a truck key. 0 -
