I haven?t bought any ammunition from them in over 15 years. I buy local and at gun shows and a local Cabelas. I do feel bad for people who live in a town with no other option or can?t buy online(California). 0 -
It won't be long and they will drop all gun sales. It's only a matter of time before the government gets The Supreme court to make it unlawful to have them or make it too expensive and time-consuming to own them, they will sue you or manufacture if used in any unlawful activity if they can't outlaw them outright. Even if stolen without proper storage in the home or the vehicle. Just watch 'em legislate this right away.
Having no gainful employment with a shrinking middle class in the next 5 years with total 5G surveillance is the reason why they are pushing this and of course, the mass killings that have and will occur as the hammer on the anvil with gun ownership rights being denied with outright confiscation if need be.

Dropping sales of handgun ammo and .223/ 5.56mm Alaska stores were the only ones still selling handguns, and that will cease.

No, it's true. No handgun ammo, .223/5.56 ammo, and no more open carry. I don't care for Walmart, but this isn't exactly a win for "our" side, and we do tend to eat our own.

I stopped in a Wal Mart on my way home just checking to see if they were going to clearance the ammo like they did the AR's when they quit selling them. The clerk said that they were not because it was going to go quick at current prices. He said that today they sold probably 1/2 of the ammo stock they were going to quit selling. Don't need anymore but if it was going to be clearanced, then I would have been a buyer. BTW, even though it is also a handgun cartridge, 22 ammo is not one of the cartridges to be discontinued. 0 -

When I heard that on the radio, I thought I should buy some .40 s&w. I handload for about everything else I own.
I heard that the shooter the other day had not passed a background check, and the gun he used was acquired without a background check. "Common sense" gun laws will stop no one but law abiding citizens.0 -

If wal-mart or any other company makes a marketing decision that is just business. It doesn't matter what my opinion of it is, it is also none of my concern if it is beneficial for them or not. However, when the company advocates for decreased individual rights and the deterioration of the principles in our constitution that is my concern. I will not be renewing my sam's club membership and will look for retailers that do not wish our system dimished. 0 -

I quite Sam's club several years ago and I don't to China Mart too often, this is a great excuse to put them on my list of places I don't shop at.0 -
For me there is also another reason not to go there. A lot of Walmarts have banned trucks from parking there. Walmart has always been popular with truckers because of the high priced truckstops which over charge for everything. But now you go to a Walmart and they have your truck booted, that?s a $500 minimum to get it removed.
But at the same time a lot of Walmarts look like a friggin KOA in the summer. In Bozeman half of the parking lot is RVers with jacks down, slides out and set up for a weeks stay but Walmart doesn?t have an issue with that, just trucks that are there so the drivers can save some $$.
Open carrying at the Bozeman Walmart isn?t such a good idea, they bring in tourists by the busload there and ipen carrying around a busload of Chinese tourists may cause a panic.
Ammo, while cheap you can still get fair priced ammo at other stores here. Our local gunshop, Shedhorn sports is one of the best Mom & Pop stores in the state who do not price gouge like many others do during those panic moments. In Bozeman we have Sportsmans Warehouse and Murdochs who are competivily priced. Only thing I will miss at Walmart are the 100 round packs of 9MM priced the same as everyone elses 50 round boxes.
And lastly, I hate self checkout, absolutely despise it and Walmart seems to love it. I refuse to use it and have made that known to Walmart employees, open another damned register!
One last thing, the buzz on social media is this will end Walmart, I don?t think so. The only threat to Walmart I see is Amazon0 -

Per a guest on Fox News (don't recall who) he states the ammo they are discontinuing is the cheap, low power ammo that has been a poor seller for WalMart. They will still stock and sell the better quality ammo and firearms too.
Go figure, Walfart would make a big deal of discontinuing a poor selling product with minimal profit margin in order to just 'look good' to those who prefer all Americans be disarmed.
A simple gesture like a 'feel good' law often passed in Congress.0 -
Heard on the radio today that currently walmart accounts for 20% of all ammo sales in this country. 20%. Their goal is to reduce that to 5%.
Seems counterproductive for a business to want to reduce sales but what do I know. :roll:0
