    I still am in the triple digits in long arms - ie there are more than 100 rifles carbines or shotguns in what I refer to as my modest collection...

    They are in safes and gun cabinets and wall racks and an ottoman modified for securable gun storage - there are guns hanging above each fireplace mantle - in locked hard cases under beds and in locked soft cases hung from a rod in a secured closet...

    I have project guns and parts guns and fixers and display pieces not intended for active usage - there are percussion guns and flintlock and a matchlock - needle fire and pinfire and cupfire and compressed air powered pieces...

    It would be irresponsible hubris and deliberate malfeasance to leave them loaded and ready for deployment and engagement against an on the scene active aggressor on or in my property - and the effort involved in achieving and maintaining such a vast and disparate array of arms of all types in such a ready state is quite inconsiderable making for an alarming excessive exercise...

    That is not an attack against anyone here and not meant to be contradictory or antagonistic - it's simple truth and demonstrates why complying with the suggested ready condition status a true comedy of errors and a bridge to far - the windmills will have tilted me.

    But please educate me - show me the error of my ways...

    I thought it appropriate to leave my reproduction CSA LeMat Navy Revolver unloaded and unprimed in its stand alone glass front display case (the primary .44 bbl cylinder chambers and the integral secondary 20ga single shot grape shot bbls well)


    And to add insult to injury and absolutely stake my claim GBGD resident untrained short bus riding Dumbass my .72 cal reproduction imperial Japanese Houjutsu style arquebus / match lock Tanegashima musket is not only displayed unloaded - I also leave the slow match unlit...
