    A friend of my youngest son who has a crap load of $$ toys suppose to have a a place holder / chance / ticket / what ever you want to call it to purchase one , I have never met the fellow but the cost would not be a issue ( must be nice ) just a matter if he decides to buy it

    Highly doubt a first year purchase but most likely when the bugs get ironed out or the ZR1 is introduced later. Been Zora's dream for a very long time. He isn't around but the new Stingray will be awesome. Will do the delivery also at the museum when the time comes. GM put on a second shift to try and keep up with demand. Kerbeck Chevrolet was taking down payments long before the introduction. Most likely marked up till the production starts to ease.

    GM has not announced what suspensions are available. My Grand Sport has the Z-51 Suspension.It still retains all the original springs and shocks and drives like the day it was built. Just 23K miles on a 24yr Corvette. I tend to care for the stiffer suspension because less cars use them and they corner better. The adjustable suspension is a costly repair when it goes out.

    74 Was the split tail. Funny, the local Chevrolet dealer across the road from the HS had a blue 74 convertible that was out front of the little dealership. I use to ride my motorcycle by the dealership to go to work and would stop and dream about owning it. It cost 6300 dollars in 74. I was making a big 1.25 an hour. So fast forward 30 yrs. I seen a 74 advertised on fleabay. I bid and call the guy about the car. He lived in akron Ohio. He sent me more pics. The car was unusual because it was an L82 4 speed convertible with silver interior not black. He explained where he got it and told me he had the original window sticker, protect plate and bill of sale. I was high bidder and went up to ohio and hauled it home. After the purchase and the car was on the trailer , I showed him my class yearbook from the same town and explained to him it was the same Corvette I use to dream about. I had that car quite a while , drove it and enjoyed the daylight out of it. One day a Corvette dealer seen the car at a show and made an offer on it that in real terms I could not refuse.

    Absolutely a home run. Under 60k for a base Corvette. The on stage Z51 was very nice. However I will wait till the HP goes up thru GM to order one. Cannot wait to see a Z06 or ZR1 version. God Bless America

    So satisfied with it I am taking my Corvette today for a cruise. Just think Ford spent a ton of money to make the 2005/2006 GT40 and limited production on those cars. Then reintroduced the V6 version and made folks sign an agreement not to sell for a period of time. they are totally out of the working class mans budget to own. GM comes along and builds a Corvette that will outrun the Ford GT 0-60 and I mean slaughter it.. and it is affordable to purchase. And GM's Corvette is not supercharged as the Ford GT. Just wait till they produce the next version Z-06 or ZR1 that is supercharged or turbo charged. That car will most likely be in the 2.5 second range. Just waiting to see one up close in the next few months. Only thing not determined is what color/ interior I am going with.And I highly doubt I sell my C4 96 Grand Sport Z-51.

    I see the driver can raise the front end with the push of a button. Great idea for speed bumps and steep driveways. This appears to be a world class supercar made right here in the good old USA. Now if Michigan ( birth place of GM ) would fix their damn roads I might be more inclined to buy one. Corvette + worst roads in the country = total disaster. I see the under front hood storage area is about big enough for a small cooler. At least I could carry emergency beer to drown my sorrows when the Michigan potholes ripped the bottom off the car. Bob

    If you are going to compare a 2020 model year car to a 2005 model year car I don?t really think thats apples to apples. If anything GM is 15 years behind the curve and therefor had better been able to produce a more capable car. Fords goal wasn?t to put the GT in the hands of the masses, where if nothing else GM couldn?t afford to take the Vette away from the masses. I hope you enjoy yours but come on man- you aren?t even in the ballpark with that analogy.

    The only way I'll buy one is if they get Dale Jr. to sign the dash. Could you imagine what one would sell for if Dale Sr. were alive and signed the dash?

    Ford built the GT for the elite wannabe race car drivers. They built the GT basically as an advertising gimmick. Chevrolet on the other hand is making a world class car for a much wider portion of the population. Starting price around 60 grand for a car faster and with perhaps better handling than the GT. I think I know what I would buy. Bob

    Wow.. that would be extremely valuable if the Dale Jr. was a Prototype...Could you get a GM roll bar to go with it ?

    Austin Thanks for the interest in the Corvette Factory . I have kin about 45 mile from there and was raised in that area..will visit them when I decide to fly up and drive the new one home from the museum delivery program.
