Advice - Cant get refund for unsold auction
Hi, I'm coming here for help since after 2+ months I cant even get a reply from Customer Service at GB. It's past ridiculous. I've had a Support call in since January with no reply. It started with a bidder mistakenly bidding on a duplicate item I had for sale. I had two of the same item for sale and he thought his bid for the first, item #1, had not gone through so he mistakenly bid on the other, #2, ending up with duplicate bids. he told me right away and I requested a bid removal for item #2 but it was not done before the auction ended. I entered another support call about the issue. The buyer paid for item #1. I've now been billed for both fees for item #1 and #2. Is there a secret to getting in contact with Customer Service? Thanks for any advice.

Unfortunately the answer is no. The auction and forum sites are separate, the only way for you to get help is through the auction side. With that said; the buyer, mistaken or not bid on your item(s). By all rights he should be the proud owner of both. One of the caveats of auctions is "buyer beware". It is up to the bidder to KNOW what he is bidding on and be careful before committing to a bid that is binding.
The buyer is the winner, he should pay you for both items, you should ship them. Gunbroker Holdings, Inc. did their part it is up to the bidder to complete the process or be filed as a non paying bidder with the correct process being followed. If the buyer did not pay and you allowed him to skate because of his excuse why should GB suffer?0 -
There is no secret contact method for customer service. What I can say is that as soon as you opened a second claim on the same issue you went right to the back of the line; the first claim now being redundant. The forums remain unaffiliated with the auction side, but Gun Broker will bill you for the sale of both items, since both listings received valid bids. You let the buyer off the hook for one completed auction, but GB still expects payment. The remedy was to have filed a non paying bidder claim on the second auction (or whichever listing the buyer didn't want). There is a set of specific rules that need to be followed, but once the non paying bidder claim is filed and when you relist the item your fees are dropped. You chose not to do this and there is no real mechanism that covers simply saying, "The buyer didn't want to pay for one of the my two auctions, and I said it was okay." 0 -
GB isn't suffering by correcting the issue. The item is still for sale, and GB would get their fee when it sells.
GB outlines a process for removing a bid, and both the buyer and the seller followed that process.
?If you make a data entry mistake while bidding, you should contact the seller and ask the seller to contact Customer Support. Only the seller can ask for a bid to be removed in an emergency situation. The seller must contact us while the auction is still active.?

BTW, "buyer beware" is fairly old school thinking. GB as well as Ebay both have fairly robust policies in place to protect buyers.0 -

?Auction tech support or billing questions. If you have a tech support or billing question click Help Center from the top of any auction site page.
?Complaints or criticism about GunBroker.com, its staff, its policies, or any buyer or seller on that site. If you have a problem with an auction transaction use the auction feedback system and/or contact tech support.
Your question has become a complaint. You've had your say, and now you're done.0
