the media is sure playing a violin, as I understand it today is the FIRST check missed so in all reality they haven't missed out on a dime yet.
The media makes it like these people are all poverty stricken and haven't been paid in months! Talk of foreclosures and not being able to pay bills etc.
Why don't Schummer and Pelosi offer to pay them out of pocket? [:D]

I don't know where you're getting your information from, but it's flawed... People in government get paid more than the private sector. And peoplee in the federal government gets paid a lot more then the private sector...

Not hard hearted, just truthful common sense. The people crying just can't manage their money. Funny that the biggest cry baby on TV can afford so many tattoos? But then, he needs them so his arm looks so macho when he hangs it out the window of his top of the line truck, he also shouldn't have bought. 0 -
My niece is a National Park Ranger. She is not getting paid, but still at the park and on a ATV, and packing her pistol (law enforcemnet). On her own time, and not getting paid. She currently has Police powers from the County, during shutdown (no pay).
She has a side income selling some stuff on ebay. So some $$ coming in.
She has a at least a months wages set back for emergencies !!. As most folks should.
These employees will get their back pay when this shutdown is over, so not a big dent in their income, but bills have to be paid. And some repercussions from not paying on time.0 -

Interesting. The turnover rate among federal employees is a fraction of the turnover rate in the private sector.
Either federal employees aren't bright enough to figure out what a lousy deal they are getting...or maybe the deal isn't as bad as some trough feeders like to claim.0 -

Have you looked at federal salaries? If you did you would not be saying what you have said. I have a BIL has just a bachelors degree in unrelated field making mid six figures. I know an FBI agent working in the office now not in field almost making 200k.
In our area those salaries are outstanding you will be in the top 1% of wage earners.
Being self employed for 32 years and having to survive more downturns than I want to count I have absolutely no sympathy for federal employees.0
