Think this will happen to Billy Boy?

"Nevada planned to kill convicted murderer Scott Dozier on Wednesday with a never-used mix of the sedative midazolam, the opioid painkiller fentanyl and the paralytic cisatracurium. Use of each of the three drugs in a state-sanctioned killing is controversial in its own right, but midazolam in particular has been linked to several so-called ?botched? executions, prompting some states to abandon its use.

Dozier?s execution was halted by a lawsuit filed Tuesday against the state by midazolam manufacturer Alvogen Inc. Alvogen?s lawsuit complained the sedative was obtained ?by subterfuge with the undisclosed and improper intent to use it for the upcoming execution in complete disregard of plaintiff?s rights.? It argued the company would suffer ?immediate and irreparable harm? should its life-saving drug be used to kill."

why don't they use the confiscated drugs from drug busts, could make some real interesting overdoses..........

Lots of people say that, hillbillie.

The states have tons of the stuff - no supply problem.

    It works every time.

The criminals use it themselves, so it can't be called cruel or unusual.

This is my preferred method of public execution. It will get the thugs attention. It's certainly more humane than letting someone choke to death at the end of a rope. It has been speculated the head remained conscious for up to 30 seconds. France still used it until the fifties I think.

Hanging would be my next choice.

Just pick a few drugs that cause them to go to sleep and give them massive overdoses; or stop all of this fooling around and just shoot the SOB.

"The 59-year-old was convicted of rape and murder of a 7-year-old in 1985 in Knox County."

Let the punishment fit the crime.

It really won't be necessary to rape the individual. We know that is cruel and unusual.

It does not say how he murdered the 7-year-old, but I am sure if it was good enough for him to do the young child; it should be good enough for the state to use on him. He really should not be able to complain that the method is cruel and unusual - right?

I like drowning. If someone killed more than one person they could be resuscitated, given a few days to recover & drowned again. Since they would never know for sure they would be able to be resuscitated each time would be for real.

if no doubt in a crime dna and all evidence and witnesses .. next morning should be mandatory
if any doubt allow a 6 month time frame to have a retrial
if guilty your gone next morning
like mot 33 years is just outrageous time to drag it out

way to many ways to kill some one fast the cruel and unusual was original meant for the drawn and quartered broken on the wheel the e slow painful , not the few seconds of being uncomfortable
they did not worry about the victim why care about there miserable life [:(!]

as for beheading I seem to recall ( have heard in the past ) they would grab up the head and show the body to it in hopes the last few seconds they could see there headless body as a last act of revenge

8 cents for a couple of 22 long rifle rounds to the back of the head should do it. I bet those drugs they now use cost a lot more than that.

I have a sedative that will kill him. A full metal jacket bullet in my Swedish Mauser.
He raped and murdered a 7 year old? I am just the man for the job.
If Tennessee will pay my fee, which is $10 grand, plus $10 grand for travel expenses, I will go down there and take care of the problem.

Really, I don't see why they ever did away with the firing squad you don't have all the complications of these drugs.
The guy is mentally ill? All the more reason to execute him.

Utah still has the firing squad. They banned it about 10 years ago, but now that the dedicated IV drugs are getting impossible to find, they brought it back as an emergency alternate method. We use five Win 94 rifles in .30-30. Four of them live and one with a blank. The shooters don't know which is which, so they can all believe they didn't kill the miscreant.

Four simultaneous 150-gr Silvertips do the job.

That is right, the Psycho is strapped to a chair with a little white sheet of paper pinned to his chest. The shooters are sitting at a bench rest 25 feet away.

Four .30/30 slugs in the chest I think that will do the job.

The lack of iv drugs shouldn't be an issue. Any vet has access to drugs that will drop a horse peacefully, I see no reason why the same stuff can not be used on trash like him.

Of course that little girl didn't get a peaceful end, why should he? Eviscerate the scum and dump him in an unmarked hole.

Andy, states regulate exactly how an execution can take place, and with what. The current method in many states specifies exactly which drugs are to be used, and changing that requires a bill through the Legislature.

Any "Why don't they just..." scheme is illegal.

    Until the Legislature changes it.

I understand how it works Rocky, and the reasoning behind it. It just irritates me sometimes.
I have heard of the some of the drug suppliers are not producing the drugs for personal ethical reasons. That should be reason enough to try and get a bill allowing other means passed.

The missingbrain populace infesting western Washington decided not to execute people given the death penalty. Guess they love their rapists and murderers so much. My advise to them is to do the world a favor and off themselves, so we can give the murderers and rapists their due.

What is the point of execution after 33 years? Who is going to remember what it was he did? Will that stop others from doing the same? Kin of the victim has been waiting over 3 decades for closure, where is the justice in that? And who gives a rat's behind if the guy suffers or not? Did he care if his victim suffered?
We have gotten far too wimpy in this country. Once convicted, a killer should be given 12 months in which to complete three appeals, after which he is executed in exactly the same manner as he killed his victim.

I will say this about the use of killer drugs and an IV for the death sentence.
I just offered to use my Swedish Mauser to end this problem and I am not kidding, as long as Tennessee pays my fee.

However, I was a paramedic for many years, and I was good. Really good at starting an IV. I would not, on any occasion, use my paramedic skills to execute a person, even some Psycho scum as bad as this guy. I was trained to save lives and I could not use my life saving skills to kill. Half the problem we have on executions these days is they can't find a competent tech to start the IV.

Offer still stands on the Mauser, Governor of Tennessee are you listening?

Isn't the recoil different for the blank?

I like the trap door drop. Over a 300+ foot precipice. Right into a plastic-lined 12'x'12' box which automatically folds inward to wrap and seal the remains.

Heroin/fentanyl seem to work around here...$10.00 worth seems to do the trick

Sperry, in the tension/anxiety of the moment, I doubt anybody would have the ability to detect the recoil. Most hunters say they don't hear or feel the gunshot when they kill a deer - and this is another person in the sights.

Justice delayed is justice denied. I have no problem with anybody who is paying for his crime with his life receiving an appeal but thirty years is outside the bounds of reason.
