I was reading that the Power Ball Jackpot was up a bit past half a BILLION dollars.[:0]

Just what would YOU do if you won that kind of money?

    That kind of money is beyond what I could ever sensibly spend.

    With a windfall like that you could and should make a bigger difference in the world.

    I would like to believe that I would prefer temporary use of most things as opposed to owning things.

    Considering the amount of rain we have had around here I might be inclined to fly away from rain every chance I got :)

    Give most of it away to family, friends, and causes I deem worthy.

    Take a bit and buy some property where I can't hear anything but nature and my thoughts...and perhaps my wife.

    Well, it's a balloon amount. The payout for a lump sum is no where close to that amount and then the feds, state, take their cut, which is more than you will get.
    But it would be nice to have like 100 million clear and free. I would stop selling off my firearms and start being GunBroker's top buyer.

    I can see my friends and I going on several REALLY nice hunting trips, helping family with needs, and enjoying the rest of my life. Needless to say, all of this after setting up a corporation to protect my immediate family from the leeches of the world.

    I?d start the Wrangler Foundation and help some folks that truly need a helping hand and give out scholarships to kids. I?m not rich, but I have a good life and I am happy. I don?t want money to change that.

    I wasted ten bucks on it today. If I won big money I would ponder for a while, hire top lawyers accountants and estate planners before I showed up with the ticket to claim my prize.

    That kind of wealth is legacy money; it changes generations into the future if handled correctly.

    I think that much money would be a curse since your whole world would change.
    Back in the early 70 a friend won 68,000 buck in the Irish Sweepstakes and every friend, outlaw and inlaws were calling and coming by and about drove him nuts.
    He had a heart attack and never got to enjoy any of it but maybe a million I could handle

    There was an article in the news a few months ago that said you only actually see about 1/4 of the money you win. If you take the lump sum, about half your money is gone. Then the taxes hit you, federal state, local, about another half is gone. You still have alot of money, but the system got 3/4 of it all. And we are still in debt, and they still want to raise taxes, and they still say Social Security will run out of money and there's no money to pay cops and teachers better, etc, etc.

    That is absolutely correct as I stated above. Yet the mofos and "BUILD THE SCHOOLS" doesn't seem to be panning out.

    I'd move to a better tax state then turn in the ticket. Just because the ticket was sold in one state don't mean I have to claim in that state, right? Besides I got like 180 days to claim my prize via lawyer under a shell corporation. Big Japo enterprise [:D].

    Actually I believe you would in Illinois. The yare wise to that trick.

    There was a guy who kept going to church praying to win. Then one time as he was leaving a voice boomed down from above saying, "You're going to have to meet me halfway on this & at least buy a ticket."
