1,000s of good men died this past week. One happened to have been our president, and given how he approached life, I would think the huge hullabaloo being made would have embarrassed him.0 -

The wife is a Fed contractor. her workplace is shut down tomorrow, fortunately contractors are being allowed to work from home otherwise they'd lose a day of pay. Fed employees get all sorts of time off that she has to take as unpaid leave. 0 -

Another agreement here with Don. A month is about three weeks too long when compared with old time custom. That and bringing the flag to half mast for everybody and their brother nowadays has caused people to not pay much attention when they do see one, much less dwell on the significance of the event. 0 -
Ole DJT can't win...if he doesn't go over the top then all we're hear about is how he slighted the Bush's just like he slighted God McCain. If it does anything to smooth some wrinkles with the Bush's and gets them on board for the next election, or atleast blunts their motivation to wreck him publically then it might be money well spent. 0 -

If you are addressing my commentary, there was nothing anti-Trump about it. It was an observation upon our society. Trump is doing exactly what we expect of him, and from what I can see, it is being handled well. As kimi stated so well, as these things become commonplace, they lose their meaning.

We're in a time of zero financial accountability, zero budgetary constraints, non stop political campaigning and a 24 hour NEWS cycle that insist on these displays. McCain's ridiculous week of mourning blew the top off it, so now each and every politician of that class will require these demonstrations of pomp and pageantry. Meanwhile several soldiers bodies, shredded by an IED are quietly returned to the US. It's unfortunate that DJT is boxed into having to preside over such ridiculousness.0 -
