    Not a liberal, but if Trump continues committing unforced errors and allowing himself to be baited I suspect it will be along the lines of obstruction of justice. He is squandering this recovering economy do to his ego, and it is a shame to see.

    I don't know why you think that there are any liberals here; I don't know anyone here who would not (or has not sworn to) defend the US Constitution.

    But, if you really need to know, the current plan is to allege "election tampering" by Trump for paying off the bimbos.

    Of course, some of us see real election tampering by Hillary, who conspired to rig the last election by sandbagging Bernie, & by paying for the Steele Dossier scam. Once she is indicted, then we can talk about Trump.

    There is at least one Dem congressman on record saying they would impeach based on "damage to the country" regardless of what the results of Muellers investigation is.

    I don't believe the Dems will retake the House....but even if they do, there is ZERO chance they take enough Senate seats to actually remove Trump from office (they need 60, not a simple majority)

    They just want the spectacle. They can't get rid of Trump, but they can tie him up in impeachment hearings until 2020. And since they cant actually win, the charges they run with are unimportant.

    Article on Drudge not that long ago where someone was actually counting the number of times the word "impeached" was used relative to Trump on CNN and the count was over 2000 in a 24 hour period.

    The Senate shall choose their other Officers, and also a President pro tempore, in the Absence of the Vice President, or when he shall exercise the Office of President of the United States.

    The Senate shall have the sole Power to try all Impeachments. When sitting for that Purpose, they shall be on Oath or Affirmation. When the President of the United States is tried, the Chief Justice shall preside: And no Person shall be convicted without the Concurrence of two-thirds of the Members present.

    Judgment in Cases of Impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from Office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under the United States: but the Party convicted shall nevertheless be liable and subject to Indictment, Trial, Judgment and Punishment, according to Law.

    I see it in fairly simple terms. I think the Rs will hold the Senate. If the Ds take control of the house, they will spend all of their time on articles of impeachment, but the Senate will not consider the matter so it will die there. Gridlock at its best and most ugly.

    The key on whether the Ds take the house will be turnout on Nov 6th plain and simple. If Trump's base goes to the polls, impeachment will be dead issue. If they think that Trump is not on the ballot so they can stay home, the next day they will wish they had turned out.

    Make no mistake, Trump's name is not on the ballot .... but this election is all about President Trump.

    Added: and the Ds won't need "charges." They'll find something to go after him on. If he were a saint/choir boy, they'd still find something, and we all know he is no saint.

    And since I don't know the end from the beginning, I cannot predict what the outcome will be.

    But there seems to be a wall being built.

    Whether it ultimately turns out to be a prison cell or otherwise, and for whom, I cannot tell.

    Many who claim to be conservative support a big Federal Government definition of marriage that comports to their own personal beliefs.

    Conservatives believe in the constitution literately as written. Gov. of the people by the people and for the people.
    The big problem is a large percentage of the people are too ignorant.
    They do not know where the government gets it's money and are intentionally kept that way.

    You are describing a situation, not signifying a definition.

    Anything can mean anything to anyone, no doubt, but not all ideas are so cheaply dealt with.


    Correct, and that was the point. It really does not matter whether one considers Adam Smith when discussing liberalism, as no one cares about what he meant when he used the term.

    If one wants to consider himself 'liberal' or 'conservative', the way the terms were used politically in the mid to late 1700s does not matter much today.
