Although this food item has been the source of much derision, have you noticed it has been sold out for months now?
I have apprx. 20 cans, so I am somewhat good. The only thing available has been "Low Fat SPAM." Apparently even Preppers will not eat that.
Thin sliced and browned with eggs and hashbrowns, good stuff.
If the regular stuff appears again, I would not be oppossed to another 20 cans.
How many cans of Tuna do you have? I'm at about 60. 😉

With two posts about it, it appears like the demand has doubled.....

My can goods are loaded. Corned beef hash, Soup, Tuna, Chili, Veggies, etc. etc. Already had a good stash. Been adding to it big time for 6-8 mo. now.
Spoke to the Food Lion Manager the other day about why no dried Hash browns for months. He spotted the large (60 oz.) Cans of Heinz Chicken Noodle Soup at $2.50 ea. (Reg. $5. BOGO) in my cart. (Have about 16 now.) He said "some things like the Hash Browns we are not seeing, other things like those large cans of soup, we have never seen before."
Stock up Boys.

There is Spam out the wazoo at Publix here, although I only keep a little of that kind of stuff, and mainly for hurricanes. I have 3 cases of Campbell's chicken noodle soup though. I eat that and a grilled cheese when I don't feel like cooking after work often and it lasts for years. As soon as a storm heads this way, it will all be gone along with every bottle of water in existence.

Bought a can of Spam months ago, sat in pantry until last week, fried to golden brown, couple slices of that "asiago" spelling? bread, slathered in Miracle Whip, 84 would say "heathen" about now. Yum yum. Anyone that would eat corned beef hash would eat most anything. 0 -
Browned corned beef hash with a generous amount of catsup, Salt/pepper. Good stuff.
Just got back from an essentials run. (Beer.) Got 2 more cans of the 60oz. Chicken noodle soup, more Vienna Sausage, couple more cans of Corned Beef hash. Gourmet chewy fresh baked Oatmeal raisin cookies. 😁 Cause a Man's gotta have that kinda stuff.
Any more canned goods pretty much have to go upstairs in the SHTF room.
My Son recently asked me "what is a SHTF room." When I told him, he merely said, "Oh."

Sounds like gout fodder to me. grins 0 -
Around here, SPAM, has been long gone for months now. Picked up 2 cans of Treet. A lesser variety that is still around. If it gets bad, i am sure it will still be palatable. 😉 (And) I am sure we will be glad to have it.
Ready to go gentlemen. Bring it.

I believe people in my area, being more self-sufficient by nature, have been looking at the long term, since this began.
Canned goods, dried beans and rice, and items like SPAM, Tuna, Corned beef hash, etc. Have been wiped out for months. (And) Continue to be. Hence the 25 lb. bags of dark red Wheat flour at $10.99 offered here recently. (All gone I might add.)
Meat section was better stocked than I have seen it for a long time. (Except hamburger, ground chuck.etc.) picked up two really nice lean NY Strips @ $6.99/lb. Yesterday. About 1 lb. ea. Will be fare for tomorrow.
Very much looking forward to it. Rare I treat myself to a nice Steak.
Like probably the majority here, I am much better stocked and equipped than the average Joe. 😉

Paranoid mentality is what empties the shelves and drives prices up. 0 -
Being prepared over the long haul, is what keeps people alive. I have been stocking up for a long time now. Not "Panic buying.". Just prudent shopping.
Nothing "paranoid" about having plenty of food on hand. If you wish to go week to week, that is fine by me.
If i choose to spend my $$ on essentials like food, vs. Gold/Silver, why would you care. I am looking out for me and mine.

Hawai'i got hooked on SPAM in ww2. Stop in 7-11, over in the refrigerated case they have SPAM musubi, with a dab of wasabi.
Long term food? Oatmeal. Grits. Ramen. Barley. Ravioli. Oil, flour, salt, soda, baking powder.3 -
Plenty of SPAM and everything else here - except for Lysol wipes. I was in two stores today and both had several kinds of SPAM and other canned meats. SWMBO won't eat it, so I buy the Singles. Perfect for a fried SPAM and jalapeno sammich or SPAM and baked beans on toast wif a egg, as the Brits would say. 0 -
Amazon has piles of it. 3 -
OK, now you have me thinking of Taylor Ham. Yep, it's basically pork hard salami. Yeah, it has to be refrigerated, but it does freeze ok. Yup, a taylor ham, egg & cheese on a keizer roll. mmmm good.

Now THAT looks like I'd pay good money for it !!

Ham Or Pork Roll ? Pork Roll is tastier when paired with eggs and cheese on a toasted Amoroso poppy seed roll. IMOA local S. Jersey Deli made a pork roll & melted provolone cheese - DELICIOUS !

I have never seen...let alone tasted Taylor Ham...Got on their site and was really interested in some of their products...(Kinda pricey!)...Got to checkout and the shipping alone was $69 bucks...Sure looks tasty! (BTW...I canceled the order)...

If it's the same product as I saw on some TV foodie show, Taylor Ham and Pork Roll is virtually unknown - and unobtainable - outside of about one square mile of the New Jersey shore. It's almost a neighborhood-only company. 0 -
It is pervasive all over NJ and eastern PA ! Pork Roll was first.Rocky Raab said:If it's the same product as I saw on some TV foodie show, Taylor Ham and Pork Roll is virtually unknown - and unobtainable - outside of about one square mile of the New Jersey shore.
