    UTTER BS.

Yes it is BS, but he did not 'make a mistake'.

He knew full well that he had to register it after Ronald Reagan made the possession of such evil things illegal absent Federal approval in 1986.

Lack of compliance, even if the law is garbage, is not a mistake; it is a crime, something Pick knew full well. The fact that he is a decorated veteran rather than a Chicago street dweller does not change that simple fact.

"I fought the law and the law won..."

He knew the gun was illegal being full auto. Also the serial number had been scratched out, that too is illegal.

It is a harsh sentence but he had 16 guns in his collection, he was a serious gun collector, he had an airplane the guy is not stupid, he knew the law and he took a chance.

Seven years federal on a gun rap he will go to a pretty tough prison.
Tough place for a 70 year old guy.

He will get 52 days a year off for good behavior so he might wind up serving 6 years.

    The law itself is stupid.

Typical society. Law does not apply to me. Well I don't give a damn who he is what he done in the past .. he had an illegal machine gun. Lock him up. Good call.

Could y'all help me out here? Was under the impression that only a handful of M-14M's were ever sold on the civilian market (permanent semi auto M-14)- but the standard M14 was never for sale.

Does possession of a stolen firearm come into play here???

Nor legal, the "law" can't usurp the Constitution. If legislators make a law that forbids blacks from voting it isn't legal or a law that forbids citizens from complaining about their legislators that isn't legal and any "law" that restricts the right of citizens to keep and bear arms isn't legal and should not be allowed to enslave a citizen based on illegal laws.

Federal law not some city ordinance. He committed two crimes. Possession of an illegal machine gun. A weapon with serial numbers altered or removed. I have absolutely no sympathy. Especially since he had other firearms. He was a gun nut that broke the law. Now..more bad news for him. He will never get to possess any firearm again.

Gun nut? I thought it said "14 guns". Granted; He broke the law by having the MG. But not a gun nut. If 14 makes you a "gun nut"; I am toast and so are most of you.

He made his choices and he has to stand for the consequences. Who he is or what we may think of him isn't a part of the real issue.

The law should be deemed unconstitutional, but with fawning sycophants like you and a Congress that runs scared of the evils of individual liberty, it will never happen.

A sad day when firearm owners revel in the demise of freedom and liberty.

The law you reference created beauracratic and financial impediments that obviously kept people from buying. The 1986 law doubled down on the impediments and made new production for the civilian market illegal. Supporting such laws goes against the specific intent and wording of the 2nd Amendment, and no amount of whitewashing by weak kneed supporters will change that.

Either you are playing word games or have a comprehension problem.

Yes NFA weapons are available for general purchase.

Only those manufactured prior to 1986.

Only if you jump the hoops of the BATFE and wait weeks or months.

    Only if you pay $ 16,000 - $20,000+ for a $ 1,000.00 rifle.

These are the very definition of the bureaucratic and financial impediments that I referenced.

It is the law. The law is wrong. Pick chose to break the law and is going to be punished, but the law should never have been made in the first place.

Thank the NRA for its support of both the 1934 and 1986 2nd Amendment busting a atrocities.

Highball, Canary birds in the past, yourself.. all against the system. Pay attention to the law and follow it. Go get yourself an illegal machine gun or make one up and join the guy on this thread that got busted. Be his cell mate. In the mean time quit bitching about the laws that were passed by congress and senate that are current. They will not change. If you want a NFA item go buy it. Govt does not set the price. Supply and demand does.

The government doesn?t set the price; they only control the supply indirectly controlling supply and demand which sets the price.

Most of us agree the government has the power to enforce their unrighteous cow cookies. Are you telling us that makes it right, or Constitutional?

I am saying it is what it is. Either follow the law or end up like the moron that went to jail. I am getting a feeling some on this forum think the law does not apply. Good luck with that.

I?ve already said I know the Feds have the power to enforce their unrighteous cow cookies but I?ll never pretend I think their cow cookies is righteous.

Same thing as an armed robbery. If somebody points a gun at me while my hands are empty and tells me he wants my cash, I?ll give him my wallet, Medicare card and all and ask him if he needs a shoeshine. It doesn?t mean I think he is entitled to my cash, just that he caught me with my head up my ass.

The cocaine and marijuana possession probably didn't help his case.

Nor did the fact he admitted to others he had not 'bought' the M14, but rather had stolen it from the military.

Nor did the fact that he had on numerous occasions threatened health care workers at local hospitals and police had to be called for his "belligerent" behavior, brandishing firearms and threatening to "kneecap" people and let them bleed out.

Oh, and then there's that minor detail of the serial number having been removed.

He actually plead guilty to the case in return for two other federal charges being dropped.

BTW his daughter was the one who reported him to authorities.

I reckon his daughter probably had enough of his bully behavior. Big tough war hero that decided to break the law. He worked for the Govt. when in the military and he must have thought they would stand with him regardless of his actions. Funny thing though.. Federal law does not protect anyone. Judges enforce it. Now I would bet he will become anti govt. His reasoning will be simple..gave my whole life protecting this country and now they turn on me. Total BS.
