The cocaine and marijuana possession probably didn't help his case.

Nor did the fact he admitted to others he had not 'bought' the M14, but rather had stolen it from the military.

Nor did the fact that he had on numerous occasions threatened health care workers at local hospitals and police had to be called for his "belligerent" behavior, brandishing firearms and threatening to "kneecap" people and let them bleed out.

Oh, and then there's that minor detail of the serial number having been removed.

He actually plead guilty to the case in return for two other federal charges being dropped.

BTW his daughter was the one who reported him to authorities.

I?m glad I won?t be at that Thanksgiving family dinner. [xx(]

"Well for 84 Yrs that Law our Govt. has been enacted and worked well. That LAW..Never and I repeat Never kept LEGAL NFA weapons out of peoples hands. So what is the issue?"

NFA regulations were IMPOSED mostly because law enforcement was too stupid, crooked, inept, or lazy to catch the gangsters creating havoc in the 30's.
Fast forward to present and those laws are obsolete, obnoxious, and irrelevant. I'd say you're WRONG about NFA regs keeping suppressors and full autos out of legal possession. Those jack azz rules keeps thousands of shooters from owning "NFA regulated items" that SHOULD be available to everyone. I've jumped through those hoops several times and it's total and absolute BS.

Typical society. Law does not apply to me. Well I don't give a damn who he is what he done in the past .. he had an illegal machine gun. Lock him up. Good call.

Just because it's a law does not make it correct.

Federal law not some city ordinance. He committed two crimes. Possession of an illegal machine gun. A weapon with serial numbers altered or removed. I have absolutely no sympathy. Especially since he had other firearms. He was a gun nut that broke the law. Now..more bad news for him. He will never get to possess any firearm again.

The law should be deemed unconstitutional, but with fawning sycophants like you and a Congress that runs scared of the evils of individual liberty, it will never happen.

A sad day when firearm owners revel in the demise of freedom and liberty.

Well for 84 Yrs that Law our Govt. has been enacted and worked well. That LAW..Never and I repeat Never kept LEGAL NFA weapons out of peoples hands. So what is the issue?

The law you reference created beauracratic and financial impediments that obviously kept people from buying. The 1986 law doubled down on the impediments and made new production for the civilian market illegal. Supporting such laws goes against the specific intent and wording of the 2nd Amendment, and no amount of whitewashing by weak kneed supporters will change that.

You are 100% Incorrect. NFA weapons can still be purchased and are for sale here on GB and other websites.

Either you are playing word games or have a comprehension problem.

Yes NFA weapons are available for general purchase.

Only those manufactured prior to 1986.

Only if you jump the hoops of the BATFE and wait weeks or months.

    Only if you pay $ 16,000 - $20,000+ for a $ 1,000.00 rifle.

These are the very definition of the bureaucratic and financial impediments that I referenced.

It is the law. The law is wrong. Pick chose to break the law and is going to be punished, but the law should never have been made in the first place.

Thank the NRA for its support of both the 1934 and 1986 2nd Amendment busting a atrocities.

Highball, Canary birds in the past, yourself.. all against the system. Pay attention to the law and follow it. Go get yourself an illegal machine gun or make one up and join the guy on this thread that got busted. Be his cell mate. In the mean time quit bitching about the laws that were passed by congress and senate that are current. They will not change. If you want a NFA item go buy it. Govt does not set the price. Supply and demand does.

Government has set the supply - your statement contradicts itself.

And yes, I am against a system that has established the legality of making a certain class of weapons illegal to manufacture and sell to the public. If the FOPA of 1986 is Constitutional, there is nothing unconstitutional about banning the manufacture and sale of semi-auto rifles. There is then, nothing unconstitutional about forcing registration of all existing semi-auto rifles and the confiscation of all that are not registered.

This Pick guy would not be the poster child for a case to neuter the FOPA of 1986 or the NFA of 1934. Rather than being submissive little sheep, however, and accept that all of our rights can steadily be curtailed over time, one should speak up so as to keep the flame of liberty alive in the hopes that one day actual common sense gun legislation will come along and toss these two fear and emotion driven bits of big government control into the dustbin of history.

I wonder how many rifles builds don't have enough domestic parts on them to comply For Federal regulations? It's all a catch-22 even the second amendment is at risk if The Republicans lose in midterm elections.

select-fire, The First Amendment, that?s the one just before the Second Amendment, was written to guarantee my right to bitch about THE LAW, LAWYERS and POLITICIANS. Well, actually the first ten Amendments were written because the U. S. Constitution couldn?t be ratified without them, but you should get the point.

When the Legislature and Executive ignore those ten Amendments and enact and enforce law that is Unconstitutional, that?s why we have a Judicial branch with a Supreme Court. We have the Second Amendment for when the First Amendment and the Court don?t work as intended.

The hope was and is there are enough checks and balances in the Constitution that the Second Amendment won?t have to be used to enforce the will of the people. Our Founding Fathers thought one revolution should be enough. I agree with them.

We are probably less than a generation away from having a citizenry willing to rewrite the Constitution making room for Big Brother. I?m kinda glad I won?t be part of it.

James, you do not have to preach what the founding fathers done. Speculation just does not cut the facts. The laws on the books are just that. Those who oppose can take it up at the voting booths. However if anyone on this forum THINKS the 2nd Amendment will be changed they are pure stupid. The congress would and will never agree on that. Remember it takes 2/3 vote to change. As far as complaining about price on NFA items.. get over it. I wish I had bought 57 Chevy Convertibles when they were cheap.

Drifting back to the topic... Folks wishing this moron got a pass for an illegal weapon is just plain ignorant. Judges enforce law. They cannot change that. Seems this topic drifted trying to find a REASON why the guy should have got a get free out of jail card. But hey that is today's reasoning by most. Everyone wants an excuse, they feel they are entitled. Or special.

Sounds like one "mistake" too many in a very long line of "mistakes"!
Good riddance to the ignant bastidge!

EDIT: He might find a home in the U.S. senate. Seems there's an opening for mentally unstable, former pilot and POW.
Thanks for your service, Mr. Peck.

Read this and warning bells rang because of the statement, ?Short time as a POW?. I checked a number of Vietnam POW data bases and did not find Alfred Pick listed anywhere. So spent some time searching various data bases and again could not find any listing of a Silver Star or any awards for Alfred Pick.. I?m just an old disabled Marine Gunner so maybe I?m wrong. Pick was originally charged with 3 counts, including making a terrorist threat to the staff at a local hospital saying ?What happened in Las Vegas is nothing compared to what I?m going to do to you people?. This resulted in them raiding his home to search for weapons and finding cocaine, pot and an automatic rifle with the serial number filed off. He has been banned from other hospitals as well. His only daughter was sexually abused by both Al and his wife from the age of 4 years old including digital and oral penetration, pornographic photographs, vibrators and forced bubble baths with body rubbing. Al denied this vehemently at the hearing, His daughter had photograph proof which she retrieved from Al?s house following his arrest. The judge reviewed the photographs with both attorneys in closed chambers and found Alfred?s denials and statements regarding his character to be false. When his house was raided, child pornography was also confiscated. Al confided to another neighbor that he had stolen the automatic weapon during a target practice session, hiding it under some leaves and returning that night to the range to retrieve it. A few years ago Al was arrested for banishing a weapon over a parking space. Al refused to allow his wife?s body to be released for cremation for two weeks, holding it hostage as a tool to force his release.

It won?t be necessary to change the Constitution. All the politicians have to do is continue to ignore it. Some judges enforce law. Most of them enforce what they think the law should be.

It appears Alfred Pick wound up where he belongs, but for the wrong reasons.
