quote:Yes,...I've tried turmeric previously, but was unable to use it long enough to form an opinion. I have GERD, and after about a week it started tearing my stomach up, and I had to stop taking it.

That's a pity because it really is effective. Did you take it with food?

Yes, I did. I was optimistic at first since it didn't cause any digestive issues initially.

It took almost two weeks for everything to return back to normal after I stopped. I wasn't taking a particularly high dose either.

Guess it's just not meant for me, but I know a couple of folks that seem to get a measure of success from it.

That's too bad. I guess it's not for everyone. Turmeric and CBD oil are all I'm taking since my physician told me to stop taking aspirin and NSAIDS because they aren't good for my kidneys.
    Fish oil may help.

I just ordered a small bottle. Hopefully it'll help with my neuropathy foot pain. The metanx isn't helping.

Here is a current article that seems to confirm the 'hazy' status of such products.

Well, I?m only suggesting and describing my personal experience. I will continue using it until it is declared illegal. Of course you will find both positive and negative takes on this issue, especially since it takes money away from Big Pharma.
The bottom line is, it?s your choice.

quote:If you have proof of whatever you believe that I have posted is inaccurate, please provide a link to a definitive site that demonstrates what you are claiming is correct.

I?ve already provided informative links above. If you need more info, you?ll have to search for it yourself. I have neither the time nor the inclination to do so. I'm not a champion for the cause nor do I have a burning need to prove a point, I'm merely trying to be helpful.
It sounds like you have already made your mind up anyway so why don't YOU post some links to evidence that YOU base YOUR opinion on? I would like to see evidence proving how HARMFUL CBD oil is. Meanwhile, I will continue to use it because it works for me and I'm not going to endure unnecessary pain because someone thinks it may not be useful or legal.

One of the problems I had buying CBD oil was the number of businesses selling it. There were so many choices, it was hard to decide which outfit to buy from. These are not only online sales but brick and mortar businesses as well. Meanwhile, I don't see any of the outfits being shut down for selling illegal products.
    Again, the choice is yours.

When something natural is suddenly made illegal, it's usually due to immense danger, or more likely,....big pharma getting involved.

My money would be on Big Pharma. I read something the other day about Bayer wanting to take over the marijuana market but I didn't pay much attention to it so I can't relate any details.

CBD oil, good for fits, farts, freckles, moles and sore holes. [:D][:D]

I?m for zero government dollars for weed smokers , you make your own money then I have no issue if you choose to smoke weed. But you get EBT and rent subsidies... you don?t have money to be spending on weed. Period

HMM , Do you drink? This sounds exactly like what happens to you when you drink. One of the big differences is you don't get hooked on weed .
Can't say that about booze can you?

I don't understand why folks try to make a case for MJ by comparing it to something else that is harmful. Would you suggest it's OK to shoot yourself in the little toe because it's not as bad as doing so to one's big toe?

If there is a physiological benefit to an otherwise healthy person ingesting MJ by smoking it should be stated as such. Pointing out it's "not as bad" as something else, using that as justification for use, is intellectually incomplete. Further, your comparison is the abuse of alcohol to the mere use of MJ.

+one. MJ is not as bad a cyanide either. SO WHAT?? I live in Baker city Oregon. Many businesses have had now hiring signs up for months. When inquiring why I was told they cannot find people to pass the pee test but we have a very high welfare rate here. TOO STUPID TO GET A JOB.

I believe that we live d in a Republic.

The problem is that the Country is becoming more socialized every day, nanny state. If you like the helpful weed for your own ailments
then partake at your own convenience.

Alcohol has beneficial properties as does weed. And both have a downside also. Prohibition of a natural medicinal weed is well,
    communism.

Yep, these types of topics shine a bright light on the jackboot supporters.

Let me try my best to describe my hatred of weed and why.

I lived in Huntingdon County PA, most of that time was in or near the town of Mount Union. Mount Union PA in the 70s and 80s was a town famous for drugs, our little town had major drug traffic and was an official stop and distribution center for mafia drugs from Miami to the east coast cities such as Philly amd NYC. We had mafia hits, Motel 22 and the Country Club were the scenes of a couple mafia murders. The Ice Man even killed a Huntingdon County resident, George Malaban, I know Malabams son as he used to own and run the Friendly Tavern in Huntingdon. After the Allenport Fruit Market bust Mount Union became famous and more and more big city traffic made an impression on that town.

My mother worked at a state run facility called Juniata Valley Tri County Drug & Alcohol Abuse Commission. I would go to work with her in the summer, this is where I learned to type long before highschool, Mom put me to work typing reports and I had used word processors while the school still used typwriters, this was the fun part of going to work with Mom. The downside was seeing the clientelle, court ordered clients coming in every day for madatory counseling. At the age of 10 I could spot and tell the difference between alcoholics, pot heads and heavy drug users, is this a skill a 10 year old should have? I?ve personaly experianced what these people are like and thier mannerisms. I knew that boozers when sober were normal folks but the booze changed them like Jekyll & Hyde. I knew that pot heads were mellow zombies who never seemed to change and that different folks had different quirks about them, pot seemed to change folks but no two were exactly alike were as drunks were all similar. The heavy drug users often times were loud and combative and I?ve seen them arrested many times at Moms office due to outbursts of uncontrolled anger. I saw a lot at this place and it made a lasting impression on me.

Highschool, here is where Fast Times at Ridgemont High became a reality. The pot heads at school were nobodys, took nothing serious and were only at school because they were forced to be there. These are the people today that are mostly on welfare, habe a job list a mile long and most of those jobs are minimum wage. They survive in that little town but go nowhere and are easily spotted driving junkyard hoopties, living in gov housing, trailer parks and run down rentals. A few of the ones who went heavy are dead or in prison where as the pot heads are semi regulars at the county jail. I know people from school who have OD?ed or became dealers and are in prison. Nate , the only black friend I had in school and who resuced me at a bar one night from a major asswhuppin is one of them in and out of state prison.

That town, a poor town that used to have three brickyards is now a welfare drug town, today heroin is a major player there and ODs are fairly regular. Huntingdon and Lewistown are becoming more and more like that little town of Mount Union. It is sad to see a place I called home to become an area like it is today but growing up there it almost seems like destiny. The drugs were always there, they never went away but are more in the open and the users mlre daring.

My daughter, my homr was a 100% free drug free home. I never brought drugs or drug users to my home, my kids were all raised to be anti drug, never once growing up were they ever suggested to think drugs were OK. They knew that I had smoked pot a few times and that after experiancing it was a firm believer that it was bad as it effected me in a negative way with paranoia and took a few days to be 100% again. I haven?t smoked it since the late 80s and have not touched it since the birth of my forst child, my daughter. Her and my oldest son tried it, I knew they would and I hoped they would see why I hated it, my son did however my daughter did not. My daughter fell in with the crowd I hated so much, drugs became a part of life, she lost her job as a care giver and is now a parroled felon who will never go anywhere in life. She is a 29 year old mother of 4 children, three of which are to three different sperm donors and is a recipient of state assistance and will never get off of it, my 4 grandkids she has will be raised in a life I fought so hard to stay out of. I gave up trying to help her, she refuses to listen to me and thinks I?m a bad person trying to ruin her life, that?s funny because I want her to succeed!!!

Added note, she is not a felon due to drug arrest, she is a felon for forgery and theft, stealing money and goods to aquire drugs. I don?t know very many drunks who rob folks for a sixpack.

My oldest son, he is married to his highschool sweetheart and to the best of my knowledge she is the only girl he has ever bedded. He has two children with her, he works hard as a truckdriver (not a carreer I wanted him in but this is the life he chose) and is 100% anti drug due to seeing them pretty much as I saw them, bums. His children are being raised in a drug free home, his inlaws smoke pot and he has thretened them with severe bodily harm if they ever smoke weed in front of his kids. To say I am proud of him is an understatement.

My youngest son, short story is he at the age of 15 has seen first hand what drugs has done to his community and as of right now hates drug users. Time will tell how he turns out, he knows how I feel about the subject.

Me, yes I tried weed when i was a teen, gave in to peer pressure at a couple parties. When a hooter is passed around it is a test to find snitches, either hit it or you are a snitch and will pay a hefty price. I did not like what it did to me, the effects were strong and mind altering. Booze would hype me up but I could keep semi rational thoughts, maybe get a little brave but I didn?t try to talk to dead relatives or the dog. Booze would wear off quickly, a good sleep and it was over completely. Pot sometimes would keep me zombied up and scared for a couple days. To say I enjoyed it would be a total lie. Now, there is a reason I have held a CCW since turning 21, many friends were cops and my outlook on drugs is why I have held a CCW long before PA was shall issue statewide. Enough said.

Overall, I have experianced drugs and what they do to an individual and a community. I have seen the side of potheads and heavy drug users that many of you have not. When I see a pothead I see a class of people, not an individual. I see a class of people that I do not shoose to associate with or want around my family. I see a class of people that allows even pot to control thier lives and have a road block in front of them forever, who will never succeed in life and will always fail.

I see drinkers on different levels, binge drinkers vs casual drinkers, a thing rarely seen among druggies. I don?t support drugs, I don?t support pot and I know how to drink bourbon and remain human. I also see that class of people today who support the legalization of pot, they are mostly hard core leftists and I won?t support a damn thing they want. I won?t support anything that enables the enablers to keep people stoned and stupid to get votes.

Many of you consider those of us as anti drug as uninformed commies, well I?m not uninformed, I am well versed on those people and I have my reasons. I laid out some highlights from my life to help explain my views although I could write a book in the subject. Many of you will not read what I just typed, you will skim though it and determine that I?m just some kook who wants drugs banned out of ignorance, that is a democrat move if I ever saw one. Have a nice day.

While I have no issue with your feelings, Lonnie, statistics are coming out that seem to show that legalizing marijuana is reducing opioid, heroin and fentanyl use. There is a significant reduction in ODs, particularly when medical marijuana is introduced, and there is preliminary data that shows the legalization of recreational marijuana not only further reduces the use of harder drugs, but also is accompanied by a reduction in the use of marijuana by those less than 18 years old.

I haven't smoked marijuana in around 40 years, and absent a medical condition that warrants its use, will not smoke it ever again.

That said, I am a big fan of a process that saves lives, reduces addiction, and reduces the number of youngsters that smoke pot.
