weed users
long term use can seriously damage cognitive function, concentration, memory, and affect developing brains....so now so many luv it ..states that have done this show over 5% more auto accidents....ITS LEGAL....OK ... then it should be mandated that if your voluntary usage has screwed you up making you a less functional than some defined norm then NOT one dime of social program or medical program MONEY will be spent on YOU...YOU are on YOUR OWN...your irresponsible mess is not my responsible fix

HMM , Do you drink? This sounds exactly like what happens to you when you drink. One of the big differences is you don't get hooked on weed .
Can't say that about booze can you?0 -

Yea, I know a few as well. I agree that neither drinking, or smoking (anything) is 'good' for you over the long run though.
I have a glass of wine, or a beer a dozen times a month maybe, don't smoke anything.0 -

I'd second this statement. Made thousands of extra dollars because some dickweed couldn't pass the test, or when called to take the test they never came back to work.
In one case got a promotion to fill the vacated position. Ahhh, the good ole days.[:D]0 -

Done both and can Say for a fact the Booze was harder to give up. But the real Hard one was the Cigarettes.
Gave up Booze cause I had just had a heart attack and Booze and the Pills they gave me did not mix. Same time I gave up Cigarettes cause I knew that was related to the heart attack.
Will agree on the MJ I gave that up for a totally different reason. I saw that I was going no where while I was using it it made me just want to get high so I could have that feeling. Felt good but not.
When I had my Bypass they gave me as much Hydrocodone as I wanted. Problem was I felt those old feeling coming back. And I can see why folks are addicted to it and why it is in such High use. Got off that stuff quick the pain was better cause at least with pain you know you are alive.
My Dentist thinks I have a High pain thresh hold cause I always refuse the pain pills.0 -
I dont smoke or drink anymore but as far a weed goes,,,,Old Willie Nelson has smoked truckloads and never misses a beat on remembering a song or having the lungs to sing it 0 -

Always wondered if somehow we are related. Same last name as him.0 -
research has shown 9% become addicted and a higher percentage become dependent ...and you can now become a pothead and not a criminal... should make all happy except the non using taxpayer ???? 0 -
Research can be as biased as the media.
Some people can drink and enjoy it others become drunks
Some people can smoke pot and be top notch in their field others are burn outs.
I would prefer the government not regulate my choice to have a beer or smoke a joint.
Now they can impose stiff penalties for drinking and driving, or committing other acts that effect others.
Insurance companies should be able to charge higher rates for users.
But Uncle Sam should not be in the business of regulating Morals.0 -

Yep, but since the OP was calling for more laws to protect taxpayers, his idea needs to be expanded some. I want his idea to include alcohol use, and I want it applied to people who do stupid crap
whether at work or not, who end up on disability. I also want it applied to people involved in MVAs who are found at fault.0 -
I have a medical issue and I've been told that CBD (canabis) oil could be helpful.
However I don't want to get a prescription as I'm afraid it could be used as a reason to grab my guns.
Am I wrong to worry about that?0 -

I don't know about where you live, but here CBD oil is an over-the-counter item still, and FWIW, it works great for pain, without any kind of high.0 -
You cannot become addicted to weed. I don't give a darn what these docs are telling you. I know people that have smoked heavy since back in the 60's , if there is no weed availible for a while, that happens, they just go on with life like no big deal.
The crap we are told about weed is to keep big pharma in business.
Have you heard that big pharma is now making synthetic weed. Even got patent on it. If this stuff wasn't a useful drug they would never have done that.
Don't believe the bull the best paid politicians tell you.0 -

CBD oil is not a controlled substance so there is no problem owning or buying firearms like there is with cannabis.
After speaking with friends who use CBD oil and swear by it, I started using it myself for pain. It works.
There is no THC in it so you don?t get high and it doesn?t impair you in any way physically or mentally.
It?s available over the counter or by mail order.
Here is some information that you may find helpful:

I ordered mine from CBDpure.com but there are many other sources for it. If you do order from CBDpure.com, they gave me a 30% off coupon code which may work for you as well. The coupon code is welcomeback.
I hope that helps. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.0 -

A friend of mine, also a gunowner, uses CBD "gummies" to help him sleep and happened to go for a job interview while taking it. I guess I made a mistake, told him "MJ = prohibited person" and mentioned his upcoming p!ss test. Did a little research after and found out there's no THC and CBD is sold nationwide, even through the mail. I decided to not tell him until AFTER he got the test back and passed - let him sweat a bit. [:D]
Anyway, I tried one with about 10 mg of Melatonin and slept like a rock. Had some wild dreams that involved Jennifer Lopez, an AMC Gremlin and duck hunting. Not sure how all that came together.0 -

Yes it is a fantasy that people do not get addicted to marijuana. Marijuana is no different than any other drug or alcohol. Your brain develops receptors, those receptors require the stimulation...if not you have withdrawals...marijuana, caffeine, nicotine, coke, heroin, alcohol etc...they all develop habits and addiction with prolonged regular use. There are millions of functioning alcoholics in this country that refuse to recognize they have a problem. You take the opportunity to drink away from them for an extended period and I guarantee they think about it...it's at that point that they should recognize that they have a problem....regular marijuana users are no different. Or coffee drinkers for that matter...if you take coffee/caffeine away from me..with in a day or two I am going to have headaches, irritability and cravings...that is indication of a physical dependence.0 -

Not necessarily true, some taxpayers might be happy to see more law enforcement and prison resources available to curb violent crime.0 -

NO -- Worry if you have any licenses- CDL CWP etc... especially in demonrat ruined states tha blame us for their f***ups
IDK if CBD would make you test positive in a pee test.
My cousin is using it and approves of it's benefit of pain management.0 -
It is a weed, smoke it or don't it ain't none of my concern unless you do something that makes it a problem for me and mine.
The WAR ON DRUGS is a glaring example of Government bloating itself, creating a militarized police force and accomplishing darn little of value except for incarcerating millions of people.0 -
CBD oil contains no THC. Most sellers of CBD oil have posted a lab analysis on their website.
It?s legal in all states and can be mail ordered.
It will not cause you to fail a urine or hair test.
It is not habit forming or addictive and it will NOT produce high or a ?buzz?.
It will not impair any of your functions except pain.
It will not make you rape and kill.
People who say otherwise don?t know what they are talking about and are simply parroting falsehoods.
Check it out yourself.0 -
Not a weed user. Never met a weed user who seemed a problem. 0 -

Is the stuff any good for chronic back pain?0 -
quote:Is the stuff any good for chronic back pain?
Probably, but there is only one way to find out.
It does help me with back and joint pain.
Another good pain remedy which I use is called turmeric. It's a form of curry powder.
Mrs Bottom Gun and I both use the capsule form. It is an effective anti inflammatory and pain reliever with no side effects. My physician gave me a big thumbs up on turmeric.0 -
quote:CBD oil can be classified as a Class 1 substance at the federal level. There are no provisions to make any one part of the cannabis plant more or less legal than any other in that law.
Other laws are contradictory to a greater or lesser extent.
It is impossible to remove all thc from hemp oil, but most preparations list .3% or less of thc.
But those companies are not regulated, and users run the risk of coming across a batch that did not get the processing necessary to refine away the thc.
Cannibinoid receptors do not "develop" in users, they are there already.
Medicine is a great boon to those who are sick.
But quite possibly poison to those who are not.
And, as always, the poison is in the dose.
Mostly nonsense except for the comment regarding receptors and being a great boon.
There are plenty of internet sites which will provide all the information you need to make an informed decision. I would suggest you do that rather than relying upon false rumors and old wives tales.0 -

Yes,...I've tried turmeric previously, but was unable to use it long enough to form an opinion. I have GERD, and after about a week it started tearing my stomach up, and I had to stop taking it.0 -

That's a pity because it really is effective. Did you take it with food?0
