So you paid retail for a pot metal gun?? WOOHOO!! 😈😈👹👺👹👺💀💀💀6 -
Comfortable with what I paid. Yeah, I expected abuse. It should be a fun plinker. Although I am used to getting most of my crappy guns from you Ricci, this time it comes from someone else. 😉
Anyone have one?
*As usual, my payment, FFL, etc. Is in the hands of the Seller within the hour.

Been almost a year since I have bought anything. Have been going through withdrawal.
Looking forward to some single action plinking fun off the back deck. Woohoo!!!

You do have the proper accoutrements to wear while plinking with that I assume? 10 gal hat, chaps, cowboy boots, etc... The stuff from your village people phase will probably be fine. Gotta look the part.😀 Bob 3 -
Thanks, but No Bob.
Only thing I don't like is the big *** "Read Manual before Shooting" drivel on the frame.
(Ala' Ruger.)

$119 at Dunhams, $129 at Fleet Farm , hope you got a brick of ammo with it. 3 -
Enjoy. Some of my funnest times shooting was with a single action .22 revolver. I had a pair of cheap Spanish ones that I fanned, quick drawed and all kinds of fun stuff. I got fairly decent at fanning one. Awhile back I bought a Colt single action .22, I can't bring myself to fan it. I need to pick up a couple more cheap .22's just to play with. 3 -
No Dunhams/Fleet Farm any where near me. Oh well. As I said comfortable with what I paid. (Wonder if they actually have them in stock?)
Inexpensive plinker, nothing more.
If I'm happy, what do you care?

I think he has those leather chaps with silver Conchos but without the backside material. 3 -
Would you believe the late state of Illinois has banned them. Yea, the "jawmakers" said that it didn't pass test and will melt down. Yes sir, Illinois protecting us again.

I bought mine for $35.00 new...and the dealer threw in a holster and a box of ammo...Fun plinker...I can't even hazard a guess how many thousands of rounds have been put down range...

The Heritage has a flipup safety on the cylinder that is hard to get used to. Other than that it is a well made gun that is worth having. 3 -
i have that model with 22 magnum cylinder also. fun gun 3 -
Grunt2, your killing me. Sounds like the guy gave it to you, and you bought a holster and a box of ammo. (?) How long ago was this?
Thanks JimmyJack. I figured for the price, how could you go wrong? Did not know they were out there at the price you quoted.
Discusdad, the .22mag cylinder would definitely be a bonus.
Ricci, although I know you like to picture me that way, No. (Buttless chaps are your venue.)

Ken, I actually have two...The second one I only paid...(well never mind)...I fitted a 22mag cyl to the second one...boy howdy!!! You better have plugs and ear muffs on when you touch it off...My first shot W/O either buckled my knees...I put the 22 mag cyl in the junk box...Just my 2cents...
BTW...I thought all chaps were "Buttless?"...

That's funny Grunt2, I guess you are right. Only Ricci would picture me in a set, without Butt protection though.
"Miss Photogenetic." Bwahahahaha................................................😂

There's something wrong with you folks. How does a gun thread dissolve to a buttless chap discussion. 3 -
"Cocobolo grips" Baby.
Woohoo!!
Glad to hear a couple guys here have one, and are not harshing on it. 😁 Cheap fun, that's all i am looking for with this.

co co bolo plywood grips. 3 -
I don't have that but I have shot 1,000s of rounds through a Single Six. You are totally correct!! A really, really fun plinker!! 0 -
have one in 17 caliber took old pair of ruger faux ivory grips and used dremel to fit the back side fun to plink and saves wear on the ruger with both 17 caliber cylinders

I was researching those. Several threads in various places said a few folks have an issue with the barrel loosening up. I suspect it has to do with firing too much ammo too fast which causes the barrel to heat up and expand too much. Maybe they mean the 22 mag version. 0 -
Scout, They've probably been watching episodes with Rump Riders in Broke Back Mtn.. 0 -
I have 4 Heritage Rough Riders, all purchased off GB. They are a fantastic gun for the money. I have one with a 9" barrel and it shoots into 2" at 25 yards with mini-mag ammo. Two 6 1/2 inchers which will shoot into 3-4" and are in a two-gun belt rig with a 4 3/4" just to round things out. Anything I can see out to over 100 yards I can come pretty close to, if not hit it. I had to do a little file work on the sights to get them 1" high at 25 yards.
Two of these guns I got when I threw out low bids just for fun and ended up winning the auctions. Put over 2000 rds through the six inch guns with no problems, with 950 rds through the 9". The short barrel gun has only shot 100 rounds. I thought I would hate a safety on a revolver but I like it. You will have a ton of fun with one of these revolvers.3 -
I like it.

Next time you have $ burning a hole in your pocket, realize that a Ruger Wrangler goes for about the same $.
I was close to buying one of those Rought Riders a few years ago. Seemed like every little gun shop I walked into had a Rough Rider 22 for next to nothing. Did some searching on here comparing the Rough Rider to Ruger Single Six and Bear Cat revolvers.Found a Colt Frontier Scout on the auction side for similar $ to the Rough Rider.

If bought local for $130ish, i would have had to pay 7.25% +/- plus travel time/gas. Gets me right back to what I am paying. I like buying off of GB and giving my local FFL a transfer.
I had not really researched the Heritage or the Ruger Wrangler. I had 4 minutes to get to the auction and enter a bid when I spotted the Heritage. I like the wood grips over the Wrangler. Total with shipping and transfer gets me a tad below the Wrangler. I wanted an inexpensive plinker, Sounds like I'm going to be satisfied with it.
Thanks for the input everyone. (Except grunt2, your killing me with the "I paid $35, and got a holster and a box of ammo.")
You sure that wasn't $135?
