What they are not showing is the guy fighting the police prior to being shot.I watched some of the riots there and they should shoot everyone with a bull horn.

He wouldn't stop fighting them. So how was the cop to know what he was reaching for inside the vehicle? I also would have shot the thug but maybe not that many times.
Why would you even want to be a cop that goes into a black neighborhood? Nothing good is ever going to come out of it. No matter if it's a good arrest or not you're going to be blamed for something.0 -
I agree with your comment about being a police officer. If I was a white police officer sent a black neighborhood I would just go in and ask the perp to please stop the assault. If they did not stop the assault I woud ask for a Supervisor. After watching the video and making the above comments it looked like the black guy just thought no way they are going to stop me or shoot me so I can do whatever I want. Goes along with how all of the protesters are being treated in all of major cities.6 -

Possible his shooting is in part a result of the reaction to the death of George Floyd.
It looks like the police had him on the ground, but he was able to escape and get to his car door. Have the Kenosha police been instructed to forego certain restraint techniques? Hopefully the full truth will come out, but I have not been able to find a reputable source (D Trump Jr. does not fit the bill) regarding Blakes history.
Yes, his history is important. If he did injure a police officer in a previous encounter, it must be considered.
If there was a current warrant for domestic violence and sexual assault, it must be considered.
If there was a previous armed assault, it must be considered.
Will we ever know what, if anything, he was reaching for in the car? Does it matter in this case, where a man escaped from being held by police officers and the officer reacted to him reaching for something? In the court of public opinion it will matter if it was his cell phone, a knife, his keys or a pistol. In the head of a police officer placed in a stressful situation because of the actions of Blake, it probably should not.
When you take less-than-lethal tools from law enforcement common sense informs us that lethal tools will have to be employed more often. Blake was shot because of his actions, not his color. An honest investigation will either condemn or exonerate the officer. Lets hope we get one.0 -

I agree that in the "old" days he would never have been allowed to continue going around the car to the drivers door but the officers were probably shy of physically restraining him from moving and again I'm no expert but it does appear to me he makes a quick reach for something as he opens the car door, I would have to blast him too. 0 -

Yep, the thugs and criminals are being emboldened by the lack of enforcement they are seeing happen everywhere. The spineless dems are going to cause this to get way out of control and what is going to end up happening is a lot of good people are going to end up in prison for doing the police's job and getting prosecuted by the court of public opinion and the media. Meanwhile the thugs and criminals are being turned into modern day social justice warriors and heros. Not going to end well if we keep on this trajectory much longer.SW0320 said:

I think - my opinion - having been at gunpoint against multiple actors and cleared leather in response - my opinion only...
Time stretches out - it slows - color and sound take on great clarity - the moment solidifies...
Gun already out and aligned forward or at port arms held either low at beltline or raised abreast to facilitate forward advance with weapon in play defensively...
Perp who has been resisting and combative and is thought to be armed and dangerous attempts to regain vehicle access - goes for something concealed at his waist...
Through training officer in hot pursuit goes active to remit the threat and avoid being shot or spanked in the neck fires one round striking the perp...
His world stops for a moment as he realizes he has or will take a human life - thinks about a wounded man in court or on camera and delivers a coup de gras as trained - easier to explain to iab and aligned with training standards or fear for life against attack.
I suspect the pause is this - just this. I had similar moments stretched out as I picked who I would kill first and aligned my gun sights with his throat at close range - since he had his hand on bus weapon and the pistol was exposed in his waistband...
I thought about spraying his brains against the display rack behind him - thought about who to shoot next and if I would die - felt the tension on the trigger as I pulled up the slack and in the hammer come back from its seated position - felt cold and sick to my stomach combined with an adrenal dump and a feeling of detachment...

Shooting a man in the back at point blank range that many times does look like murder was the intent, not an arrest. If the perp were put on trial for his "crimes" the penalty certainly would not be death. 0 -

They caught him and were beating on him with a skateboard, one guy had a handgun. It looked like they were trying to get his AR too. He shot them and then turned himself over to the police who were just down the street.The guy looked very young to me.

I obviously do not know the particulars, but that sounds like a justifiable self defense shoot to me.
If he was not above board, why would he turn himself in? Think the other side would do that?

The PD should put out information about the shooting. Without information everyone is putting out a false narrative, with no facts to refute the false information. If the guy had a knife, the PD certainly should have said that by now. In all of these shooting of unarmed, fighting suspects, the cops never use pepper spray. All cops carry pepper spray. Sure a determined person can fight after being sprayed, but the person can not see, is disoriented, and at a physical disadvantage after being sprayed. Most people after being sprayed have had enough of the fight.

Well looky here! Another arm chair quarterback! NONE of us were there. NONE of us know the particulars. The ol' kid could have been jacked up on PCP, meth, or who knows what. 3 cops have him on the ground, and can not keep him down. I can't understand that, the guy does not look that big. Can't cops fight anymore? You do not have to grab a suspect's neck to subdue him. Wait for the investigation to run it's course and then we'll find out what actually happened.A second cell phone video of the officer-involved shooting of 29-year-old Jacob Blake on Sunday has emerged, showing the incident in a slightly new light.
The footage showed Blake fighting with officers before he took off and ran to the driver’s door of his vehicle with police on his heels (video showed). The video suggests he may indeed have had a knife, and had ignored orders to drop it, before being shot.
It also suggested that Blake's girlfriend lied to police when she claimed he hadn't been hostile.
Another witness filmed part of the encounter between Kenosha police and Blake on his cell phone from across the street, but that video didn't show any scuffle with police.
