For what ever the reason, mask or no mask the man made the second bad decision, charging the police was a death sentence.First person all but took this man life by being overly concerned by no mask, the situation most likely would have past quickly.Third the police overreacted to the no mask complaint. My 2 cents.I was not there and there is usually 3 sides to the story.Another covid related death.

I never wear a mask if I can get in the store without. My county, Madison County NC has 14 cases of the Dempanic, and is the safest county in the state.
I can't get in the liquor store without a mask so I wear one there. I do get some dirty looks from some mask wearers in Lowes, and the grocery store.
If one of them, male or female, gives me any crap I will have a very smart ass retort for them.

Just because someone makes what you think is a stupid or offensive comment doesn't give you the right to attack with a deadly weapon. The video would be better without the reporter talking during the encounter. Sounds like the officer fired several rounds before the gun jammed? Maybe a limp wrist due to the situation, officer was backing away firing and may not have had a good grip on the gun? No matter, officer cleared the malfunction and was able to stop the threat. I would say that guy was high on something, behavior is very odd and did not go down when shot at point blank range. Of course, stabbing another individual might be a clue that something was wrong with this guy.3 -

That's the reason I carry a revolver. It rarely ever needs to be cleaned and it fires when you pull the trigger. 6 -
