After seeing MaG00s editing of his post, upon reflection believe it to be poorly communicated satire or sarcasm. If that is the case, then we really need the green font back or at least utilize the emoji feature to convey the intent or meaning of the post.

If it wasn't sarcasm then NeoBlackdog nailed it. Bob
    <sarc on> <sarc off>
That should make it pretty clear IF it was sarcasm and not just out and out ignorance.

Sarcasm is best when you have to think about it.  Mr. Magoo's post is an accurate reflection of the attitude of many in this sad country today.

Ladycop did a very good job.  She got off 2 or 3 rounds and then, as previously stated, looks like a bit of a limp wrist; understandable given what she was facing.  Where she shined however, was with the quick rap of the hand and quick cycle of the slide so she could put this miserable piece of crap out of our misery.

As to the nanny state ninny who wanted someone who was a virtually at no risk to wear a mask?  It is none of his business.  If he is that afraid of the magical Covid, he should stay home and stop bothering normal healthy people, or at least be a man, shut the hell up, and recognize that freedom is not subject to his whims or fears.

My initial reaction/response to MaG00s post was before he had edited it and added the last three paragraphs. Based on some of his posts in the past I believed he was serious. After he edited and added the last three paragraphs I have him the benefit of the doubt and dubbed it sarcasm. I hope I am right.
Yes I think the senior should have kept his opinion to himself but nothing he could have said warranted being stabbed. The dead perpetrator must have either been on drugs, mentally disturbed or both. Bad for the senior, bad for the officer, but I have a hard time feeling sorry for the knife wielding ***hole. Bob

Well Bob, it depends if one decided to nitpick the written word, or take a deeper thought on it.   I wasn't there, so I cannot say who was right or wrong. Some may say bringing a knife to a gunfight is stupid, well, old man brought his sorry mouth to a knife fight.

It's rather interesting how on one side, the cops shooting the knife guy, most are OK with that. But knife guy defending himself  against and assailant without a knife is not OK. What the hell is with the double standard? There isn't even a law that says the guy has to wear a mask. Not an enforceable one anyway. Yet some old fart who wishes to run the world starts crap with a guy who he probably don't know and may have been having a bad day anyway.  I wasn't there. There are plenty of big old guys who can put a hurt on a smaller younger man.

It's rather easy to couch quarterback this, But where is the video of the initial argument that went  bad? If old guy took the first swing, well, he got what he deserved. If not, so be it. You can ask why he ran, or why he charged the cops, but that is all after the fact, the universe was set in motion, and we don't know all the facts. Drugs, mental problems, old girlfriend or just plain ole fear? I don't know.

However, the part about bringing in a councilor or shooting the knife out of his hand, yes, sarcasm. About shooting him while he is bending over, that is a sticky point for the lawyers. I say he got what he deserved, yet the cops didn't appear to be too well trained to me. She feared for here life my ass. She just has to say that (politics) or she should be kicked from the force, or get some real training.

I personally don't "fear for my life" when I have superior fire power. Just effin ridiculous. Just politics.

Could be interesting. I seen a guy get stabbed over a quarter on the pool table. Didn't see or care how it started. Standing on principle is the American way. If you let the camel get his nose under the tent, you will have a camel in your tent.  If you let these bullies push you around, even if just a mask, you have opened the floodgates for more abuse. So yeah, if the old guy started it and got stabbed, he deserved it, just like the stabber meandering towards the cop who shot him. NO FRIGGIN DIFFERENCE.

My Lord man, you justify STABBING some old geezer because he told a young man that he should have a mask on?  Are you serious?  I don't care if the old man called him names, yelled about his lack of a mask, acted like a total azzhat and said the attackers mommy wears combat boots.  The guy pulled a knife and stabbed him over his butthurt feelings and you think that is an acceptable response?
The cop did EVERYTHING right.  She was in mortal danger from a man that just stabbed a fellow human being over the use of a mask.  She asked him to drop the weapon, she PLEADED with him to drop the weapon.  What did he do, he advanced with malice, she stopped him.  The video also shows he NEVER stopped advancing with weapons in his hand, he looks to be staggering a bit, drugged up?  Drunk?
We all would have loved to see you take on a guy with a knife at 20 feet and not fear for your life and pull the trigger until the threat was stopped, on the ground with no weapons.  The video looked like as he was being shot he was still trying to stick her with a very large knife.  It also appears to show him dropping the knife then BENDING OVER to pick it back up before the bullet hits started to register in his stupid brain.

Looking at it again, and reading some comments under the video, I now have to question the authenticity  or if it is a staged production.

No video of alleged confrontation of knifing, no blood from being shot, no muzzle flash, and the sheriff with his cautionary warning of wearing masks. Conveniently parks randomly on the street infront of a house camera.  And I have never seen a solo cop show up to a police call like this.

Now I have to play devils advocate on this. Demonizing a white guy, showing how dangerous we are, with a screwdriver and pig sticker, never really going for the kill. I guarantee if he wanted that cop, he most surely could have, so why not?  The plot thickens.

I assure you, this draconian mask infringement is only the start. And you say he got shot for knifing a guy in the store. Show me the proof. And at the end, the cop says it is about a mask, so yes, this production was about  wearing a mask, for your panic porn entertainment.

I'm sorry this just doesn't pass the test.

But yeah, when they come a knocking on your door to confiscate your firearms "for public safety", come cry to me how the mask saved you from the common cold.

When I first watched it on another site, I thought she was doing a lot of missing. But read a story that the guy was hit 9 out of 12. Just did not fall right away.

...the story lol.  This guy breaks it down in slow motion and brings up some of the same stuff I did earlier (before I saw this video). Come the find out the Cop at the end, issuing his warning about wearing masks  name is Reich.  Part of the 4th Reich? It's a scary world when folks so freely and willingly get on the trains to the internment camps for their safety.

There are multiple local news sources from the area where this occured. The guy in the video seems to know nothing about firearms or police procedure. The big deal he made about the missing tape was from a newscast made hours after the incident. Video was probably recorded off and on all day and edited into her 6pm broadcast. As for your question about mask wearing, it is not necessary to wear them outside in Michigan if social distancing is practiced. Several sources and the 911 call reffered to the guy threatening all the people in the store and stabbing the senior. Your question of no store video showing the initial incident is because of an ongoing investigation. The stabbing of an unarmed senior shows a lack of a man card by the idiot. The officer (female) did an excellent job and probably has more of an entitlement to having a man card than most. You seem to think the use of a knife in a verbal situation is manly. I think it is the act of a coward. Wasn't smart enough to defend himself verbally so he bullied his way out of the argument. His demeanor is that of a lifelong bully that never faced any consequences for his actions. Well I guess he found out about consequences the hard way. Bob

I guess I've been extraordinarily lucky at assessing dangerous situations and acting accordingly.  For example, when a fellow stuck the tip of a jackknife blade up against my stomach at O'Dark Thirty one morning and took the only seat left in a cab when he said the seat was his...I agreed in a tone of voice that was matter of fact.  One does not have to whine to diffuse such encounters, but it might be a whole lot safer to not *iss off a potential nutcase.

There have been numerous dangerous situations in my life where life and limb might matter should one act the wrong way at the wrong time, both on and off duty.   I had always thought this type of self preservation was representative of common sense, but apparently some folks don't get it for whatever reason until it's too late...then there are the activists and they are not ordinarily concerned with anyone who does not look like an imminent threat.

One word of advice, should one decide to not be carful in such encounters, striking first might better the odds.

Just proof of what I already knew. There are a lot of very stupid people out there. This idiot that critiqued the video is clearly a conspiracy theorist who probably spends his free time in area 51 searching for big foot. They don't have any use for facts, only their own rhetoric enforced by the equally misinformed groups they hang out with. They went screaming past ignorance to get to full blown stupid. The very definition of "Useful Idiots".

Give the guy on the radio show some respect; at least, he knew that you clear a Glock jam by use of the pull back thing. (green print)   Of course, he failed to understand that the light shining on the perp's torso (at 50%) was from a pistol mounted light on the officer's gun.
I find the body cam video confusing, not disturbing.  I still don't know what "covered the officers gun" means.  And, when there are, maybe, 10-15 rounds fired & you hear nothing, I think that the body cam footage has been a wee bit over-edited.
Bottom line, this is just a "suicide by cop" incident, by an inconsiderate person who didn't care how much pyschological trauma he was inflicting on a good LEO.

My feeling all along was "suicide by cop," Neal.

He knew he had stabbed someone, and knew he was screwed. He got out of his vehicle knowing what he intended, and the ultimate outcome. IMHO.

She (the female LEO,) did a good job. Kudo's to her.

I watched the balderdash video, from the get-go it is a study in verbal garbage by the author.  The guy is clueless about bullets, gun function and reaction of a body to bullets hitting it.  The speculation he has on the shooting is bull scat.  I pity anyone that would give credence to the video or use it in a post to defend the indefensible position they have espoused.
