    Frogdog,

You cannot imagine how happy that news makes me...

I cannot imagine your wife would be on the transplant recipient list if the cancer issue had not been resolved - at least for now.

Total organ transplant or partial bud implant expected to grow???

Prognosis must be positive - obviously such a transplant procedure is in itself complicated and not without risk - but your wife must like me be part cockroach and have the constitution of an blue oxen or bull moose and must have made some incredible recovery progress...

Lymph nodes clear and positive ongoing blood draw lab work results or biopsy tests???

Please pass me comments and jests and prayers on to your wife - let her know that at least so far I too have survived and that I understand much of your ordeal...

I am so proud and overjoyed.

    Mike

Frogdog, that’s fantastic, wonderful news! Whatever it takes, screw the details, GET THERE and get her better. All the other stuff will resolve itself in time.

Prayers for you, your wife and for the donor’s family. That’s amazingly thoughtful for you to mention them. What a guy, your wife is lucky to have you in her corner.

    Let's have updates tomorrow!

Thanks, Mike. Full transplant. They said the donor liver is in ideal condition. As far as the history, my wife had been struggling with an auto-immune disease for 25 years that scars the liver. That finally led to cancer (2 tumors), which they got under control with TACE procedure. A transplant was the only permanent way out though, so this is literally saving her life. A special blessing, since she is only 38.

Thanks to all for your prayers and comments! Much appreciated! Things got delayed a bit, but she is in surgery now. Docs said it could take 12-20 hrs. Wow - those surgeons must really have some endurance to stand and operate that long!

I'll post more when later. Thanks!

Prayers for both of you. Your wife for the surgery and for you to be able to handle the stress of the next 12 - 20 hours. I hope she has a quick recovery and your lives improve with her return to health. Bob

UPDATE: Surgery just wrapped up. Docs said it could not have gone any better. No transfusions needed. Stable throughout. Great result.

It's amazing how God works. For years, my wife has needed a transplant due to her illness, but could never get enough points on the list. But cancer (you get extra points) proved to be the avenue to expedite the healing she needed. Amazing.

    Thanks to all!
