Home Invasion Update
A close friend was murdered last night in what looks like a home invasion. He didn't show up for work today & friends found him stabbed in the back of the neck. My best guess at this time is that someone dropped off 1 or 2 perps after 9 pm, who entered through an unlocked bedroom sliding door. He was found in the hallway leading from the bedroom. They stole his phone, car & guns. He didn't have much more of value. From blood tracks, they loaded the guns into his car & drove off. He was a very trusting person who didn't lock his vehicles, garage or house. He would also hire flunkies needing work for cash to work around he house. He was a known hunter & was a range safety officer at the local 4H. This is a semi-rural resort area which is normally safe. The car is a 2014 Hyundai which, isn't that special. I feel that he was targeted for his guns. I'll let you know more info as it comes available Be careful what you advertise about yourself and stay safe.

While we were sitting next door waiting to be interviewed, A very nice, eco friendly, vegan lady offered to pull the trigger on them. The Sheriff's dept. is very good at catching chitums. 0 -

Having grown up right around there, that is a very rare type of crime for the area. As you suggested, I would bet anything that it is NOT a random crime. I fully expect it to be linked back to some of those employees mentioned, or associates of theirs.
Sad story. Regardless of where you live, though, not locking doors is naive, at best. It's just not that type of world anymore.

You've got to be ready these days and even then the thugs can kick a door down and be on top of you before you know what's happening. While I sitting here in my recliner typing on my laptop I have my S&W .357 Mag on the end table beside me. Any room I go to in my house I'm only a few feet away from a gun. And we live in what people call a "safe" neighborhood...BS! There are no safe places. Hoodrats are not going to get anything by robbing the poor in the projects they go out where the money is at. 3 -

The part that makes even less sense is that the man worked 6 days a week. They could have come thru the woods behind his house when he wasn't home & left in his other vehicle. They didn't have to go in when he was home. 0 -
My gut is telling me druggies have heard about the guns and him being an easy mark for robbery. They will sell the guns for more drug money and keep on doing what druggies do. I hope they catch them and fry them quick. 0 -

Really a shame that he (a good guy) does not get a second chance.
Cannot trust people now days day or night. Too many druggies and thugs and they a multiplying.

(And) Some people here gave me grief on a recent thread about whether you have the right to shoot someone in your house under the Castle Doctrine. I figure anyone in my house that has broken in, means to do me harm, and will act accordingly.
You can try to sue me later. (I mean your relatives can attempt to sue me later.)

Home invasion has been a concern of mine as recently we have had a few around us and we are in suppossedly a safe community. I have guns in various parts of the house besides on my self usually. We are quite a ways off the road and no real close neighbors so if we had a home invasion no one would even notice.0 -
Absolutely terrible, they will get them. Bet it is some local scum. Maybe get killed while being arrested in a shootout. 0 -

If they catch him or them they'll just turn them loose. Gotta make room for those pesky hairdressers and restaurant owners that won't close their businesses down due to the zombie virus. 6 -

I always have a firearm handy, and a ballistic shield available for those times it is appropriate. Right now there is a NAA.22 in my pocket. Paranoid? No, just prepared. I am very comfortable with always having a firearm available to protect me and my family. 3 -

The boy they're looking for was a little way from home then. Greenwood is about 1 1/2 hours north of me. If he's driving a loop that wide he could be anywhere. 0 -
Suspect is 6'2" and 140 lbs....must be a meth head. That would explain so much of the why.
