Damm  sorry to  hear that BSR
I do hope it goes well in surgery  and heals up with full use of it  .
wearing gloves may have helped a little  a guard on it well it  may have helped a little but odds may still l got your hand .
I cant say being careless or not focused caused it ,    as always  just hind sight is best ,

I would guess most that have used a grinder have come close or been nicked ( I for one )
my last boo boo I ran my thumb thru a table saw, I  just lost concentration for a seconds , pushed the board with my thumb on top right on thru   now my thumb print is sure easy to pick out out of a line up ... . my doc told me he did similar with his radial arm saw but lucky for him just scared the crap out of him .

Lets pray you regain full use of the hand. You can beat yourself up later.

Why is there never enough time to do it right but always enough time to do it over??  In this case, enough time to heal.

Also known as to soon old, to late smart.  Been there done that.

Just off the phone with him, and I forgot to ask if he was wearing eye protection "this time"! I'm going to tell Bryann to bury that damned grinder.  It hit bone, and severed the tendon and nerve for the middle finger. They'll put the tendon back together tomorrow, and hope for the best with the nerve. He better hope Bryann cools off before that heals, she might make that look like a paper cut.

I had to have a complete tendon transplant on my right hand. It takes a while to heal but I can still use my hand. Don

Did you follow the safety instruction tag attached to the cord and read the owners manual? :*:#
I sure hope you regain the use of your digits, being a crippled dude is no fun; just ask me.

Holy crap! I hate to say it but it sounds like you got off lucky, at least nothing is missing. Of course I have never done anything like that. That's my story and I am sticking to it, just don't ask Judy about the rule she made. Something about no power tools unless she is nearby. Not sure why she ever came up with that.😁
Seriously, hope they get it all working again and you heal up quick. Bob

Sh-t happens.  Cutting some heavy 8" channel last week with a 12" H.D. cutter.  Alot of torque.   Started to smell something burning and it was me!  Sparks started my gene cuffs on fire :s. What's even worse is the wife comes out and asks if I smell anything burning ;)

Good luck on your continued healing. Btw, you don’t have to almost cut your hand off to post. 😃

    Keep is updated please.

Best lesson I ever got in shop class was seeing the teacher cut off his thumb showing us how to use the table saw. He always kept that hand in his coat pocket after that.

Hang in there Lonnie, sometimes s* happens, then again, sometimes it happens all at one time! Listen to the docs, get healed back up...and don’t be a stranger.
