Prayers for my Mom- (Update)
Just got a call, my 90 year old Mom fell. Being taken by Ambulance to a non-local Hospital. Not sure where yet. Prayers asked.

Neighbor called my Sister. My Aunt, my Moms Sister is with her. Have dreaded this call. She is a Sweetheart. I have a couple numbers to call, in order to find out what is going on. Will be doing so shortly.
Just tried to call her about 45 minutes ago, no pick up. (Before the call.)

Fingers crossed that it's a simple slip and fall case not connected to a major health crisis event - and that there are no broken bones - that she will still be ambulatory...
Prayers that she does not encounter a virus and is not exposed to staph...

Just spoke with the neighbor that called the Ambulance. Tripped an fell coming back into the house after getting the mail. Looks/sounds like a broken hip.
Heading to the Hospital now.
Damn.
Been dreading this call.

Very sorry to hear that Ken. I went through that with my mother also. It took her several months in a nursing home to get back to near normal. I hope it's a simple recovery and she's back home soon.Joe

Just got back from Boone. (We were not allowed to go up. Not a surprise.) Told go wait in your car. We will call you. Definate broken hip. Surgery tomorrow morning. Will have to go to a rehab facility, after a one week hospital stay. We will not be able to visit either.
Thanks all. She is a tough old bird, but I am afraid at 90 years of age this is most definately not good. I've been dreading getting this call.

Had to make a trip to the ER in Boone a couple Sundays ago, thought I was going through a military checkpoint.If you don't have a rehab in mind the Foley center in Blowing Rock is excellent.

I truly understand your concern. My 93 yo mother is in a nursing home and falls all to often. It is very scary situation for their children. Prayers sent. 0 -

Hey Ken -good luck. If she was living alone then she’s a tough one.
Just had a close friend bring her 97 year old mom back To Michigan from San Diego. She stayed with her for 2 weeks and her sister 2 weeks prior to that after her mom got out of a 2 week stint in rehab. Her mom fell and broke her hip hanging laundry.
So from here it’s all in her attitude and you guys’ support! Hang in there. Stay isolated for her!

Look on the bright side - no stroke or heart attack or head trauma...
Can you face time with your mother - does she have a video call capability on her phone - I assume your phone or tablet does...
Perhaps one on the members of the nursing staff can make the connection...
I will relate that I have spent a little time in one of these rehab facilities - one virtua operated and another was power vac I think...
Both places had activities and events for senior women - bingo and movie night and ice cream and cards and a visiting comfort dog...
Social interactions with close supervision - seemed to have a positive impact...
Land line phone in her room???
I assume that you will put together a bag or pile of her personal talismans and needful things - objects with weight and portent...
Wish I could think of something positive or helpful.
