For race I put human. The rest was simple. I worked for the census in 2000 & by the time I finished the second phase I had to talk to some people that I was the sixth person they had talked to.
The first phase was mapping & my job was to spot check the people who had spot checked the first group so if I had to talk to someone I may have been the third one there. The second phase was the actual census & in a few cases I was the sixth person they talked to. They asked me to come back for some kind of third phase but I said NO!
I was stunned with the waste of money. I sometimes drove well over 100 miles just to check a handful of items. I worried at how much I was reporting in mileage & time but they told me it wasn't enough. They said if they didn't spend all they were allocated they would be cut for the next census.0 -
I'm now at an age where I cannot even remember filling out previous census reports. Let alone what those reports asked back then. At least when it comes to things like taxes, I have copies from years gone by to look back upon.
Please, I'm not asking for sympathy! I consider having a selective memory of life events to be a true blessing!
