Why isn't there a run on guns and ammo? Here the ammo shelves are full as are the gun racks.
How about where you are?? Is this just a South Carolina thing?? The average South Carolinian is armed so is this just as simple as I got guns but I ain't got toilet paper??

Yeah, I hear you. It has not really cleaned out the grocery store as of yesterday when I was in there. (In and out for beer.) Seemed pretty normal, not even abnormaly busy. If it keeps getting reported in the news and on Social media showing all the empty shelves, it may hit.
I hope this thing does not get as ugly as it seems to be going.
It's Crazy. Maybe people are looking at Europe thinking, If it can happen there, it can do the same thing here. I don't see how they are going to contain it. I think it is going to run it's course, and the fatality rates will be what they will be. I hope not, but that is my feeling.

Lots of places are reporting panic buying of ammo. If you don't have it where you live yet maybe you can get it started! Just run in all bug-eyed and scoop up all the 9mm and .223 you see. That ought to do it. 0 -
I had been planning to Order a Glock 48 on Friday for about a month. I had a GSSF certificate so needed a blue label dealer which is out of the way. So I had carved out a little time a few weeks ago.
Anyway I have been to this mom & pop store a number of times and it is your typical small gun store. I would guess there were 7-8 customers in there which seemed very busy compared to previous visits.

Oh no, rest assured that this panic is well under way on the west coast too. I don't know about a run on ammo though, because I haven't looked. I would think there is an ammo panic too though. Not for me, we have plenty ammo. Except for the Barrett, could use some more for that, as I have only 250-300 rounds. I'm gonna check out the auction side. 0 -
Folks that are panic buying toilet paper are not the kind of folks that already own guns. My personal opinion is that gun owners are not the "panic" type of folks.
I am sure the waiting periods are preventing the panic buying of guns. I mean, if they can't wait for their six month supply of toilet paper to run out, how can they possibly wait five days to buy a gun.
Of course, if they don't already have a gun, why do they need ammunition?0 -
I’m watching a gun on the auction side that ends tonight and so far is way under price. I hope to snipe it. It’s a plus that the seller is only 40 miles from me. I believe people are scared of spending money on the unnecessary things. 3 -
We own a small shop, sold $6000 in ammo in 6 hrs on Friday., 9mm, 5.56,223,30-30, and buckshot. As I indicated last week all my wholesalers are out of 9mm, 5.56, and 223 Those that do list it say to call for pricing. 0 -

My neighbor has given me an M1 to sell for him. I took the photos yesterday and I was going to list the rifle tonight, but I spoke to my neighbor this morning and said that right now, an M1 is not going to be the type of rifle that buyers will be looking for. I just came back from my local Wal-Mart. 3 or 4 Mossberg pumps, 1 or 2 870s, some deer rifles, some 22 rifles a few I'm not sure what they were since I didn't ask. One lever action Henry. Lots of ammo for shot guns. Not much buckshot mostly hunting and trap ammo. If you want to buy ammo like 22-250, 243, 308, '06, 6.5, 270 30-30 maybe 10 to 20 boxes of each. A whole bunch of 22 LR, some 22 Mag. At this moment no guns and ammo panic here. 0 -

I don't believe in running out of anything. If I need TP, I expect to look in the closet in the master bath and have some there. This is not do to foresight, it is because I hate shopping. My neighbors go shopping four times a week (I'm not joking). There are two of them and they come home with maybe two small bags each trip. They don't stock up because they consider a trip to the grocery store or Walmart as a form entertainment: they stop on the way for breakfast, do their shopping and then stop on the way home for lunch. Rinse and repeat, three-four times a week. They're nuts: the traffic here sucks, and the restaurants are usually packed with Disney tourists. I can tell you the panic buying of guns and ammo is underway in San Antonio. Academy stores are wiped out of 9mm, 40SW, 223/556, 22LR and low on 308 and 762x39. Most AR slots on the wall are empty and all the home defense shotguns slots are empty.
Then again San Antonio has had evacuees shoved on us and a lot of them are coming up positive. While they may be in quarantine, those who take care of them are not.

Yep, I’ll wager that there are hundreds, if not, thousands of un diagnosed cases in WV already. Like MC, I don't like to shop. So if I need something I get enough to last awhile. I'll go and buy 6 cans of shaving cream, 6 tubes of tooth past, a dozen things of antiperspirant,.........you get the idea. I saves time, travel expense, and I'm not running out of things and making extra trips. I usually go to the local grocery once a week for perishables, but I can skip that if I need too. 3 -

Same here,....I hate shopping.As far as the ammo situation, I wouldn't have a clue if there's a shortage or not. I have more than I will most likely ever use, so I don't even look around for it anymore.

Being in California I think the background check might be a hurled and the looming lead ban (the backdoor gun ban) folks might not wanna put large stock in something they can't use in public. Or they're like me sitting fat on the supply they squirreled away. 0 -
Ordered my monthly case of ammo yesterday. IMI 556 (1000 rds) this month. I'm short on powder, only 16 lbs. Plenty of primers and brass, so I'm good to go.

In Italy the mortality rate is 8%. That is nearly one in ten of the infected, and a higher percentage of old farts like you and me. How much less than deadly do you find that?
