That altercation, is not taking place in the Toilet Paper aisle.

Looks more like a "My Baby Daddy," fight.

I seem to recall a toilet paper shortage in the early 70's. I think I was in the 7th or 8th grade and there was no TP to be found in the local stores, but my mother could shop at FedMart (if anyone remembers that place), and could buy toilet paper there, although there was a limit.

Funny but just about two minutes before I read this I brought in a 6 roll pack of Quilted Northern toilet paper in here to my office bathroom from my car.

I don't see any toilet paper shortage until the election is over.

But after the "great sugar shortage" the price of doughnuts never went back down after the "temporary" sugar surcharge. There are stupid people now who will pay a Dollar & even more for one doughnut.

Not to get to far off track was in Shoprite this AM. No hand sanitizer at all  They were almost ready to fight over last few sanitizer wipes. Food was starting to look pretty sparse also.

Amazing what mass media can do to some peoples mind. Soon the non-prepers  will be looking for roadkill if the likes of CNN keep it up.

last night on the news they reported ebay would no longer allow sales of hand cleaner and surgical mask  and some other items in high demand due to the panic .  called it  price gouging  was there reason and causing shortages at local stores ... but if someone is willing to pay what ever they are making  the price  in a auction
is that not normal business to make as much as you are able

Seems like there was also a shortage of pennies during the 70's. That was one screwed up decade. I just checked and I have 80 rolls of TP (plus 2 in the hangers), which should be enough.

My dad a WWII vet said all they were supposed to use was one square, rationing, there was trick to it.
Involved folding the piece correctly, twice it think, tearing off a small corner then poking you finger through the hole that was created when making said hole. Slide finger all the way through and then proceed to clean the affected area, Slide paper off of finger, this cleans the finger, and then use the small "corner" piece to clean from under the fingernail. Should work with a little practice.
Ha ha, look at Corona hording  video.

I went to Sams this afternoon with my daughter to help watch my grandson while she loaded up on the bulk baby stuff she needed.    I was SHOCKED to find how bare the paper towel shelves and toilet paper isle was.   Its crazy what people will hoard and what reason do they have for this nonsense?      How on earth does a rumor get spread around that toilet paper will not be available in the near future???

I work with a man who also worked at Kimberly-Clark in MA. We took a ride up there during the strike , he opened a warehouse to show me the place was stacked floor to ceiling with TP. The shortage was BS to get the price up, just like most of the "shortages" in the 70's

Woolworths is very much in business.  It is an Australian grocery chain.  I have shopped there in Darwin more than once.  I did not see those two, however the people do talk funny mate.

Just got back from a very small grocery run. (Specific items/in and out.) Plenty of Toilet paper. (Bought a larger pack than normal.) Noticed their instant rice, was wiped out. (One thing I was in for.)

Commented on the TP situation on the internet, to the guy that rang up my groceries. He stated, "Yeah, we have heard about that. Australia and Japan, so far."

I was able to score, Hot Wings, Beer, Peanuts, Rice, TP, what more do you need?

used to have inlaws in milwaukee that bought into the panic in the early '80s.  they had more toilet paper stocked in their basement than would fit in a full size pickup bed-- for the two of them. now that i'm single that much would last me a decade? it was triggered by a newspaper article about about cleaning up the fox river and how a paper plant would be temporally shut down for two weeks. there was really no shortage until the public all started buying years worth in week
