Since we were getting low on paper towels and toilet tissue, we went to SAM's Club today after Church. No problem, they were fully stocked.

Just got back from a very small grocery run. (Specific items/in and out.) Plenty of Toilet paper. (Bought a larger pack than normal.) Noticed their instant rice, was wiped out. (One thing I was in for.)

Commented on the TP situation on the internet, to the guy that rang up my groceries. He stated, "Yeah, we have heard about that. Australia and Japan, so far."

I was able to score, Hot Wings, Beer, Peanuts, Rice, TP, what more do you need?

I see what you did there.

ifen you get real desperate, take one of the empty cardboard tubes, to your least favorite restraunt/establishment, go in bathroom and refill your roll from them............... you can leave a dime if you like

No TP necessary here, I have TOTO Washlet. If you ever try one you will do what is necessary to have one.
    Nothing better for roid relief.
I think this discussion has gone to pot.

This made me look.  I've only got about 65 of the "mega rolls", I may have to slow down my eating to make them last.

This discussion has gone down the Crap Hole.

"65"rolls of TP? You apparently have issues, Sir.

I can still remember the great TP shortage back in the 70's.  Public restrooms were the place many got their supply's!  Also, any work place custodian closets were targets for those low life thieves!

Another memory about hearing the day to day life of a Soviet citizen and the long lines where they waited to get their rations of TP.  Just before the wall came tumbling down.

These days, I don't even use TP anymore.  I treat myself to those wet wipes that are enriched with aloe and chamomile.  Soothing and clean as a whistle without any of those nasty streaks left in my drawers!  :*

You're right.  With an emergency food supply of beans and rice 65 rolls is hardly a good start.  If there's any left on the self I'll add more stock this week.

Got me to look as well,.....180 of the Charmin double rolls, and 24 of the Mega rolls. I bought this stash WAY before this virus was even heard of, simply because of the deal I found. Probably an easy years worth for me. There is no shortage of TP around here, just hand sanitizer and masks.

Catawba worms are the best fish bait for bream . At one time we had about 100 trees on the farm. Sold many thousands of them back in the day

I seem to recall a toilet paper shortage in the early 70's. I think I was in the 7th or 8th grade and there was no TP to be found in the local stores, but my mother could shop at FedMart (if anyone remembers that place

For unknown reasons I couldn't get the "reply with quote" to separate from the quote so I posted it this way.
I was thinking it was in the 1960s, but it probably was the early 1970s.  I thought I had forgotten about it.  It started on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson as one of his stupid jokes.  After it took hold you couldn’t find a roll of toilet paper with a search warrant.  They had a hell of a time getting the public to believe there really was still toilet paper in the Good Old USA.  Every night the lead story on the nightly news was “the toilet paper shortage is a hoax”.  Johnny Carson did a nightly skit about it.  I don’t think he ever saw anything but humor in it.

All this talk about how Bernie Sanders would have us in bread lines and here we are in long lines for staples like TP and bottled water under Trump.

Exactly, this is old news here on GBGD.  By now we all know the have our basement wall lines 3 cases deep with TP to protect our cases of bourbon.  TP 3 cases deep will stop a lot of bullets and it's still functional after the fire fight.  A drink of whiskey and a clean azz go along way toward life's comforts.
